Oddo 69 Samuel 45

Samuel provided the only highlight of the first half in this dreadful match
with a fine header from Totti's chipped cross. Oddo, who should never have
been discarded by Milan, equalised when his cross looped over Pelizzoli into
the top corner.

Assists : Totti, Frick

Tare 36, 41 Brocchi 50
						Shevchenko 63 (Pen)

When Terim fielded Costacurta in defence I could hear a collective groan from
Milan supporters around the World and Billy didn't let us down. He allowed
Kozminski to run by him unchallenged into the box and his cross was
powerfully headed past Abbiati by Tare. Both players combined minutes later
for an almost identical goal this time Kozminski did a number on Brocchi.

Inzaghi caused panic in the Brescia penalty area and Brocchi made up for his
earlier mistake by rifling a lose ball into the net. Inzaghi headed against
the crossbar before Shevchenko scored from the spot after Contra, who looked
really class, took a tumble in the box. Contra slammed the ball wide of goal
in injury time.

Rui Costa went off injured mid-way through the first half.

Attendance : 17,000
Assists : Kozminski (x2), Contra

						Perrotta 6
						Marrazzina 55

Chievo pulled off a minor shock with this victory, minor because Fiorentina
suck. Perrotta turned Manfredini's hopeful volley past Taglialatela. Corradi
hammered a volley against a post. Chiesa headed wide from close range.
Corradi struck another post but Marrazzini was on hand to lash in the
rebound. Chievo hit the post a third time. Chiesa missed a penalty. It's
going to be a long, long season for Fiorentina.

Attendance : 14,000
Assist : Manfredini

Kallon 21, 45 Vryzas 66
Vieri 91 (pen), 93

Kallon beat Mazzantini (admittedly not difficult as he's short) to Georgatos'
evil cross to head Inter in front. Kallon brilliantly pulled down a cross from
Vieri, turned and smashed the ball past Mazzantini. Vryzas threatened to
spoil Cuper's league debut with a bullet header but Inter wrapped up the
points with two late goals. Vieri converted a penalty dreamed up by the ref.
Vieri appealed for another penalty after falling over Mazzantini but this
time the ref wasn't having any of it and the quick thinking Kallon centred
for Vieri to bang in his second.

Attendance : 60,000
Assists : Georgatos, Vieri, Kallon (x2), Ze Maria

Trezeguet 10, 11
Del Piero 44, 80

Trezeguet hit two goals in a minute. The first was a well placed header from
Christian Zenoni's cross and the second a fiercely struck low volley. Del Piero
volleyed against the post twice then hit two great goals. A stunning free
kick just before half time and a header from Salas' cross.

Attendance : 30,000
Assists : C Zenoni, Zambrotta, ?, Salas

Lopez 48 Matuzalem 61

Peruzzi punted a ball downfield, Lopez lost his maker - by flattening him
then let rip with an AWESOME half volley. Lazio were punished for horribly
dealing with a corner. Cristiante teed the ball up for Matuzalem who hit a
brilliant first time strike into the top corner. Hubner (Piacenza) and Cesar
(Lazio) blew great chances to win the match.

Attendance : 40,000
Assist : Peruzzi, Cristiante

Chevanton 2 Di Vaio 71

A horrendous mistake by Frey, who must have been watching the clown Barthez,
gave Lecce a shock lead. As Frey prepared to throw/kick the ball Chevanton
ran from behind and took the ball on his chest, turned and chipped the ball
into an empty net. Nakata's free kick rebounded off a post and Di Vaio headed
in the rebound. Vugrinec won a penalty with one of the best dives I've seen
in months but Frey made a superb save.

Muzzi 61 Galante 11
Pavon 65 Osmanovski 43

Galante headed in Brambilla's cross and Osmanovski scored his first for
Torino when Turci spilled Lucarelli's shot. Muzzi made it 1-2 with a
magnificent finish from a tight angle. Pavon re-direct Pieri's shot past
Turci to earn Udinese a share of the points.

Attendance : 12,000
Assists : Brambilla, Pizarro
