SERIE A ROUND 13

9 DECEMBER 2001

MILAN 1-1 JUVENTUS
Shevchenko 24 Del Piero 47 (Pen)

Juve dominated possession in the opening minutes. Abbiati made a stunning
save to deny Del Piero from a free kick. Javi Moreno helped on a high ball to
Shevchenko, he ran through four Juve players and from a ridiculous angle wide
on the left unleashed a shot into the top right hand corner of Buffon's net,
sensational strike. The commentators compared it to Van Basten's strike V
USSR in the 1988 European Championships. Similar angle but that was a
volley. Just gives you an idea of how good this goal was! Zambrotta missed a
chance on a rebound and Buffon made a great save from Umit's header.

Zalayeta, on for the ineffective Nedved, ran between Maldini and Chamot in the
box and did a dying swan routine. At first it appeared as if the ref wasn't going
to give a penalty but seemed to change his mind, Del Piero equalised. Milan
dominated the rest of the match but couldn't find a way to break down Juve's
11 man defence.

In light of last week's suspensions If Paparesta isn't disciplined by the refereeing
committee there is something seriously wrong.

Assists : Javi Moreno, Zalayeta

BRESCIA 1-3 INTER
Tare 21 Ronaldo 29
							Vieri 63, 70

Ronaldo scored in his first start for what seems an eternity. Vieira picked
him out with a superb reverse pass, he broke Brescia's offside trap and
poked the ball past Castelazzi prompting scenes of hysteria from the Inter
players and bench. Their joy was short lived however as Tare headed
Brescia level from a free kick.

Okan controlled a cross with his chest before floating an exquisite pass
to the back post for Vieri, 1-2. A similar move for Inter's third. Kallon
flicked a ball off his chest before turned and volleying into Vieri's path,
he headed first time past Castelazzi.

Some great football by Inter today. If Inter are smart they'll give Ronaldo
60 minutes every match before substituting him for Kallon.

Assists : Vieri, Giunti, Okan, Kallon

CHIEVO 2-1 LECCE
Marazzina 22 Cimirotic 52

with his chest and Marazzina knocked the ball high into the net.
Manfredini smashed the ball against the underside of the crossbar. Konan
headed on Savino's cross and Cimirotic lashed a half volley in off D'Anna.
Chievo were awarded a penalty for Carrillo's stupid foul on Mayele. Corini
sent Chimenti the wrong way.

blasted in a rebound after Inzaghi's shot was saved. Lopez added a third
with a brilliant curling half volley.

PARMA 1-2 ROMA
Di Vaio 31 Assuncao 49
							Fuser 77

Mboma tried to control Falsini's huge cross on his chest, the ball ballooned
up in the air, Mboma and Antonioli then challenged for the ball, both players
fell but Mboma managed to knock on the ball before the Roma defence could
clear and Di Vaio finished emphatically. Assuncao equalised with another
brilliant free kick, Frey didn't even move and Fuser scored his second
successive winning goal with a tremendous 25yd drive.

Attendance : 22,000
Assists : Mboma, Delvecchio

PERUGIA 2-0 VENEZIA
Vryzas 46
Rezai 80

teased Bjorklund before accelerating away and shooting past Rossi
with his right. Rezai grabbed his first Serie A goal with a superb volley
from Ze Maria's free kick.

Attendance : 10,000
Assists : Bazzani, Ze Maria

TORINO 1-2 ATALANTA
Galante 14 Doni 46
							Colombo 70

Asta's right wing cross was poorly cleared by Carrera allowing Galante to
volley the home side into the lead. Rossini pulled down Zauri's long free
kick on his chest then rolled it into Doni's path and the midfielder slotted
into the corner, beautiful goal. Bucchi spilled Dabo's outrageously powerful
drive and Colombo volleyed into the corner. Bucchi was sent off for a
mindless challenge on Rossini outside the box.

Doni can book his flight to Japan now because barring injury there is no
way Trap will leave him out of the side.

Attendance : 20,000
Assist : Rossini
Red Card : Bucci 94 (Torino)

UDINESE 2-1 VERONA
Muzzi 82 (Pen) Oddo 69
Pinzi 86

penalty was saved, his follow-up was cleared off the line and at the
third attempted he scored, heading in Camoranesi's cross. Muzzi smashed
home a penalty and Pinzi volleyed in a rebound after Caballero's shot was
blocked.

Attendance : 15,000
Assist : Camoranesi, Helguera
Red Card : Seric 78 (Verona)

8 DECEMBER 2001

PIACENZA 2-0 BOLOGNA
Hubner 51, 63

This match should have been stopped due to thick fog. It didn't seem to
bother the boss as he scored his 11th and 12th league goals of the season.
The first a volley from er someone's cross and the second a brilliant free
kick.

Assists : Gautieri, ?
