SERIE A ROUND 6

ALL TIME CLASSIC TURIN DERBY

14 OCTOBER 2001

UDINESE 1-1 INTER
Di Michele 88 (Pen) Ventola 61

A dull first half. Ventola wasted the only chance when he headed Guly's free kick
wide. Ventola wasted another header from Seedorf's cross before setting
up Kallon with a superbly weighted header but Turci flew off his line and made
a brilliant save. Ventola pounced on a terrible mistake by Caballero to give
Inter the lead. Dalmat was sent off for a stupid foul on Helguera and Inter
struggled but looked good for three points until Cordoba backed into
Sosa in the box and the ref awarded a penalty converted by Di Michele.
A harsh penalty but stupid challenge nonetheless.

Attendance : 19,000
Assist : Sosa
Red Card : Dalmat 74 (Inter)

BRESCIA 2-2 CHIEVO
Baggio 62 (Pen) Marazzini 11
Sussi 83 Cossato 77

Perrotta's superb pass between two defenders gave Marazzini his fourth
goal of the season. Lupatelli pulled off two incredible saves from Tare
and Baggio before Baggio converted a penalty awarded for a foul on
Emmanuelle Filippini. After having worked so hard to get back in the match
Brescia conceded another goal when Cossato headed in Corini's free kick.
Sussi earned Brescia a deserved point with a close range drive from Baggio's
lay off.

Attendance : 17,000
Assists : Perrotta, E Filippini, Corini, Baggio

JUVENTUS 3-3 TORINO
Del Piero 9, 25 Lucarelli 57
Tudor 11 Ferrante 70 (Pen)
							Maspero 82

After several lacklustre displays in a Juve shirt Nedved finally came to life
and was involved in all three of their goals. He threaded a pass to Del Piero
for the first. Zambrotta cleverly hooked Nedved's free kick to Tudor for Juve's
second and the Czech midfielder also laid on Del Piero's second when Juve
caught Torino on the counter attack.

What a second half! Ferrante released Lucarelli with a superb pass and
he calmly beat Buffon by placing the ball into the opposite corner.
Asta took a dive in the box, Ferrante almost tore the net with a violent
penalty. Bucci pulled off two World Class saves from Salas and Trezeguet
as Juve desperately tried to score a fourth. Buffon made a brilliant save from
Ferrante's powerful header but Semioli arrived at the far post to slam in
the rebound. Tudor took a dive in the box and as Del Piero had been subbed
Salas took the penalty - and sent the ball high into the stands.

This is without question one of the greatest matches I have ever seen.

Attendance : 60,000
Assists : Nedved (x2), Zambrotta, Ferrante, Asta

LECCE 4-1 FIORENTINA
Vugrinec 3, 87 Mijatovic 13
Giacomazzi 11
Chevanton 92

Vugrinec scored via a deflection after Taglialatela palmed out Chevanton's
cross. Chevanton dribbled past three players and took a shot, the ball
hit team-mate Giacomazzi and he swept it past Taglialatela. Mijatovic scored
his first goal in a year when he headed in Vanoli's cross. Chimenti made
several outstanding saves. Taglialatela was sent off for bringing down
Chevanton outside the box. As Morfeo lay on the ground after missing a
great chance Piangerelli walked over and gave him a slap on the back of his
head. Morfeo stood up and gave Piangerelli a love tap. Both players were
sent off for their stupidity. Tonetto stole the ball off a defender and centred
for Vugrinec to score his second and Chevanton scored Lecce's fourth as
Giacomazzi broke their offside trap - on the half way line.

Attendance : 13,800 for £95,000
Assists : Chevanton, Vanoli, Tonetto, Giacomazzi
Red Cards : Taglialatela 65 (Fiorentina), Morfeo 81 (Fiorentina),
Piangerelli 81 (Lecce)

MILAN 1-1 VENEZIA
Shevchenko 44 Maniero 61

Milan were camped in Venezia's half but couldn't find a way through.
Rossi pulled off a World Class save as Inzaghi seemed certain to score with
a diving header. A mistake by Contra gave Venezia a rare chance but Abbiati
made a fantastic block to keep out Bressan. Rui Costa's corner was brilliantly
controlled and volleyed past Rossi by Shevchenko who ended his long, barren
spell without a league goal - 2 weeks. De Franceschi launched a high cross
into the box and Maniero towered above Maldini and Roque Junior to head
in the equaliser.

Attendance : 60,000
Assists : Rui Costa, De Franceschi

PARMA 2-2 PIACENZA
Di Vaio 40 Hubner 50, 73
Djetou 81

A lucky deflection off Lucarelli gave Di Vaio an open goal. Frey frustrating
Piacenza with two off the charts saves but was finally beaten when Hubner
poked Volpi's deflected cross past him from close range. Former Parma
goalkeeper Guardalben a brilliant double save from Di Vaio and Marchionni,
inuring himself in the process. Hubner gave Piacenza the lead with a
magnificent back heel volley from Cristante's cross. Parma equalised when
Sensini's header deflected off team-mate Djetou.

Attendance : 16,600
Assists : Cristante, Sensini

VERONA 0-1 BOLOGNA

Red Card : Filippini 65 (Verona)

13 OCTOBER 2001

LAZIO 2-0 ATALANTA
Lopez 42
Couto 70

Kovacevic slipped as he attempted to pass the ball, it fell to Lopez and his
shot took a deflection past Taibi. Couto wrapped up the points by sliding in
to meet Lopez's centre. Atalanta had a ton of chances but weak finishing
and Peruzzi kept them at bay.

Assist : Lopez

PERUGIA 0-0 ROMA

The best chance fell to Montella who shot wide from close range. Typical
Roma match, lots of fouls.
