Fiore Downs Juve

A Fiore double condemns Juve to their second successive defeat and
keeps Lazio within a point of leaders Milan, victors over bottom club
Como. Forgotten man Kallon comes off to bench to keep Inter in the
hunt. Chievo and Bologna join Juve on 26 points after wins on
Saturday over Piacenza and Parma respectively.

Nedved 33 Fiore 34, 50

Buffon parried a stinging drive from Cesar straight back to the Brazilian
defender, he tried again and this time a superb Montero header denied
him a goal. Buffon made a stunning save from Corradi's volley. Del Piero
pulled down a Thuram long ball and passed to Nedved who shot into
the corner. Lazio were level less than a minute later. Stankovic fell as he
headed on a poor clearance, as he got up Fiore was sending a half volley
past Buffon. Another poor clearance gave Lazio the lead. Cesar destroyed
Ferrara on the left flank but his cross was headed out by Tacchinardi,
Stankovic headed the ball forward and Fiore sent another half volley
sailing over Buffon. I haven't got a clue what happened during the rest of
the match because of the wild Turin fog.

Assists : Del Piero, Stankovic (x2)

Tare 23, 39 Miccoli 63
Baggio 88 (Pen)

Tare headed Brescia into a two goal lead from a Bachini cross and
Baggio free kick. Brescia failed to clear a corner allowing Grosso a
second chance to deliver a cross, no one picked up Miccoli and he
headed past Sereni. Di Loreto pulled down Tare in the box and
Baggio converted the spot kick.

Attendance : 13,000
Assists : Bachini, Baggio (fk), Grosso, Tare (won pen)

COMO 1-2 MILAN
Pecchia 22 Ambrosini 20
						Shevchenko 42

A rare moment of unselfish play from Inzaghi gave Milan the lead.
He chested down a Nesta long ball then rolled it forward for Ambrosini
who steered his shot into the corner. Dida fumbled the ball after Cauet
tried his luck from distance and Pecchia put away the rebound.
Como should have been awarded a penalty when Nesta rugby tackled
Bjelanovic in the box. Stellini made a mess of a Rivaldo corner, Ambrosini
turned the ball back into the area and Shevchenko pulled down Inzaghi
to head in the winner. Ferron made a brilliant save to deny Inzaghi.
Cauet should have been sent off for stamping on Simic.

Attendance : 14,000
Assists : Inzaghi, Ambrosini

Rocchi 84

There were plenty of chances for both sides despite the terrible
conditions. Ballotta flew out of his area to clear a long ball forward
but only got as far as Rocchi and he poked into an empty net.
Ballotta made a brilliant save to deny Busce a second for Empoli.

Attendance : 5,300

Kallon 70

Atalanta dominated the match with Dabo, Doni and Rossini going
close in the first half. Inter were restricted to shots from distance.
Kallon replaced defender Pasquale mid way through the second half
and had an instant impact. He received a pass from Crespo with his
back to goal and surrounded by three players, he took a couple of
touches before turning and rifling the ball into the net. A stunning
save denied Rossini an equaliser.

Attendance : 55,000
Assist : Crespo

Samuel 3
Totti 24
Montella 79

Struggling Roma made a dream start when Samuel punished sloppy
defending from a corner. Di Michele should have done better when one
on one with the 'keeper. Cozza struck the woodwork with a drive from
25yds. Totti raced onto a superb back heel flick from Cassano, held off
two defenders and finished emphatically. Cozza hit the post again and
Pelizzoli came to Roma's rescue with another great save. Totti went
off injured. Montella looked miles offside as he ran onto a Batistuta
pass, rounded the 'keeper and tapped into an empty net.

Attendance : 53,000
Assists : Cassano, Batistuta

Iaquinta 55 Lucarelli 58

Iaquinta headed in a deflected free kick then shot wide with an open
goal at his mercy following confusion between Delli Carri and Bucci.
Seconds later Torino were level, Lucarelli tapped into an empty net
after a superb run and cross from Castellini. Jorgensen and
De Ascentis wasted chances to win the match.

Attendance : 14,000
Assist : Castellini

						Della Morte 49
						Bierhoff 87
						Pellisier 91

Della Morte opened the scoring with a brilliant header from a Di Franceschini
cross. Bierhoff scored Chievo’s second with another header, this time from
Lanna's cross and Pellisier wrapped up victory with an excellent first
time strike.

Assists : Di Franceschini, Lanna, Lazetic

Cruz 42, 44 Adriano 28

A serious of deflections left Adriano unmarked in front of goal, 0-1.
Cruz slammed in Locatelli's pass and netted his 8th league goal
when Benarrivo went awol on a Bellucci cross.

Assists : Locatelli, Bellucci
