SERIE A ROUND 25

16 March 2003

LAZIO 4-1 EMPOLI
Lopez 7 Oddo 4 (og)
Corradi 40
Simeone 71
Castroman 84

Two goals in 10 minutes. Oddo headed Busce's free kick past his 'keeper and
also inadvertently played a part in the equaliser as he attacked a corner the
ball fell kindly to Lopez, 1-1. Corradi headed Lazio in front from a Lopez cross.
Simeone and Castroman scored shortly after coming on as substitutes. Simeone
punished Berti for his terrible positioning and midget Castroman headed in a
free kick. The goals were shit but Lazio's football throughout the match wasn't.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Oddo, Lopez, Fiore, Mihajlovic (fk)

BOLOGNA 1-0 UDINESE
Signori 9

Signori settled this match with an extraordinary goal. Cruz headed on a long ball
but he who was running into two big defenders, as the ball began to drop he flicked
it up to the left then volleyed over De Sanctis. Similar to the infamous goal scored
by Matt Le Tissier against Newcastle several years ago. Bologna almost paid the
price for some bad misses by Cruz. 18 year old midfielder Muntari almost destroyed
the goal with a man's shot from 20yds. Jancker should have punished Pagliuca for a
rare handling error but his shot was deflected onto a post.

Attendance : 18,000
Assist : Cruz

BRESCIA 1-0 TORINO
Guardiola 60 (Pen)

Despite being without Baggio Brescia played surprisingly well. In fact they should
and would have been 4-0 up but for Bucci who arguably gave the best performance
of hi life. His saves from Toni and Tare headers in each half were out of this freaking
world. Bucci was finally beaten from the spot after Schopp made the most of a stupid
foul to win a penalty.

Attendance : 14,000
Assist : Schopp (won pen)

CHIEVO 0-4 PARMA
								Mutu 6
								Nakata 59
								Lamouchi 66
								Gilardino 91

Mutu opened the scoring with a beautiful low free kick. Frey made a phenomenal save
from D'Anna. Lanna was sent off for chopping down Nakata. Nakata scored following
a great move down the left. Chievo kept coming forward, Junior cleared a shot off the
line and Beghetto should have done better when give a free header. Lamouchi, who
had a fantastic game, added a third from an Adriano pass then set-up Gilardino for
the fourth. Mutu was sent off for stamping on Perrotta.

Attendance : 14,000
Assists : Adriano (won fk), Adriano (x2), Lamouchi
Red Cards : Lanna 54 (Chievo), Mutu 76 (Parma)

INTER 4-0 COMO
Batistuta 14
Di Biagio 25
Vieri 56, 76

Batistuta scored following a great run by Zanetti. Di Biagio headed in a Recoba
corner. Both teams blew first half penalties, Amoruso's penalty was saved and
Vieri shot wide. Como wasted numerous chances to get back in the match
before Bugner put them out of their misery with two headed goals.

Attendance : 60,000
Assists : Zanetti, Recoba (ck x2), Zanetti

PERUGIA 1-0 ROMA
Miccoli 52

Ze Maria swung a free kick into the box, Panucci tried to head the ball out,
Cufre and Antonioli got in each others way and Miccoli the midget smashed
home to send Perugia ahead of Roma in the table! A very quiet game from
Totti, I don't think he's recovered from the red card he got in midweek.

Attendance : 12,000

PIACENZA 2-0 ATALANTA
Hubner 41
De Cesare 89

The Boss, who has been in sparking form since returning from injury, put Piacenza
in front with a typically muscular header. Taibi made a Hollywood save from
Di Francesco's breathtaking 30yd volley. De Cesare poked in a second from
Ferrarese's cross.

For those of you who don't get to witness the brilliance that is Dario 'The Boss'
Hubner he is the Italian Alan Shearer only stronger and technically better.

Attendance : 7,000
Assists : Gurenko, Ferrarese

15 March 2003

JUVENTUS 3-0 MODENA
Nedved 53, 82
Trezeguet 84

Plenty of chances for both sides in the first half but no goals. Vignaroli had a goal
disallowed for a highly dubious offside, he tapped into after Milaneto hit a stunning
long ranger against the crossbar. Predictably Juve took the lead shortly thereafter.
Zalayeta headed on a long ball to Nedved, he rode a tackle, feigned to shoot, sending
Ballotta to the turf, then tapped into an empty net. Nedved scored a second on the break,
he ran 40 yds before letting rip with a wicked dipping shot. Trezeguet, who had a shocking
game, finally scored at the second attempt after Ballotta saved his initial effort.

Attendance : 36,921
Assists : Zalayeta, Trezeguet

REGGINA 0-0 MILAN

Piss poor match. Both teams hit the post. Reggina goalkeeper Belardi was sent off for 'handling'
outside his area.

Milan can kiss their title hopes goodbye if they don't beat Juve next week.

Attendance : 26,000
Red Card : Belardi 79 (Reggina)
