SERIE A ROUND 26

23 March 2003

UDINESE 2-1 INTER
Muzzi 47 Cordoba 73
Iaquinta 58

The highlight in a dreadful first half was a beautiful passing move which started with Pizarro
dribbling through two tackles and ended with Iaquinta getting on the end of a four man, one
touch passing move and shooting against the post. Udinese took the lead early in the second
half. Manfredini hit a cross into the box, Muzzi caught the ball but without a great deal of power
and Toldo just missed. He almost gifted Udinese a second when he punched a cross straight to
Muzzi but Muzzi hit the ball straight back at him. Muzzi however laid on the second goal following
a powerful run down the right flank, he completely smoked Cannavaro before centring to
Iaquinta who got in front of the incredibly slow Gamarra to knock the ball into the net.
Cordoba scored on a rebound after Gamarra headed a corner against the crossbar.
De Sanctis denied Vieri a certain equaliser with an excellent save but Inter failed to put
Udinese under much pressure and they rode out time to complete a double over the Milan club.

range header. Meghni got Bologna back in the match with a left foot volley only for Pecchia
to restore his teams two goal advantage minutes later from a superb Amoruso pass. Carbone

Simeone handled inside the box, as everyone protested Cardone scrambled the ball into the
net. Stankovic equalised with a fantastic header. Parma edged this game on chances and just
about deserved their late winner. Peruzzi spilled a tame shot from Barone and Adriano took
two attempts to put away the rebound.

ROMA 3-0 PIACENZA
Cassano 11
Delvecchio 30
Totti 43

The Prince and heir combined for the first goal, Totti with a perfectly weighted pass straight
through the Piacenza defence, Cassano rounded Orlandoni and tapped into an empty net.
After missing two sitters Delvecchio scored a gorgeous goal. Cassano flicked on a first time
pass to Totti on the turn, Totti sent the ball wide to Delvecchio, he ran into the box, turned
inside a defender and hit an exquisite little clipped shot inside the post. Brilliant. Antonioli
saved a Hubner penalty. Totti looked miles offside when he scored Roma's third. Orlandoni
saved Aldair's piss poor penalty.

Cassano is slowly developing into the player he thinks he is.

Assists : Totti (x2), Cassano

TORINO 2-1 PERUGIA
Ferrante 65, 78 Grosso 41

Another win away from the Delli Alpi for Torino, they should play away from home more often.

defending by Di Loreto to equalise. Ferrante appeared to foul Sogliano as he chased down a
long ball. he then raced into the box and curled the ball inside the post.

MODENA 2-1 REGGINA
Balestri 61 Savoldi 93
Sculli 89

Not sure what Cevoli was sent off for though it looked as if he talked himself into it. Cozza's
stunning 35yd free kick cannoned off a post, Bonazzoli headed the ball towards the back
post, Di Michele seemed certain to give Reggina the lead but Ballotta made a superb recovery
having hit the ground on the free kick and blocked on the line. A poorly executed offside trap
backfired when Reggina ran out en mass having cleared a free kick and Balestri, who took a
delightful pass from Marasco, hit a shot into the ground and the ball bobbled into the corner.
Modena hit Reggina on the break for their second, Sculli pulled down a longball, went round
the 'keeper and tapped into an empty net. Savoldi scored with a brilliant curling volley deep
into injury time after Bonazzoli headed down a cross.

Assists : Marasco, Milanetto, Bonazzoli
Red Card : Cevoli 32 (Modena)

MILAN 2-1 JUVENTUS
Shevchenko 3 Nedved 9
Inzaghi 24

Milan were rewarded for a very aggressive start with an early goal. Shevchenko slipped his
marker as he ran onto a ball down the right flank, he made his way into the box, Buffon came
off his line, Shevchenko attempted to centre the ball for Inzaghi, Buffon got a touch, Shevchenko
snapped at the rebound, dribbled away from Ferrara and rolled the ball into an empty net. Dida
handed Juve the equaliser, literally, when he punched a Tudor header into his own net. Inzaghi
restored Milan's lead with a classic poachers goal, Pirlo chipped the ball into the box, Inzaghi,
with his back to goal, pulled it down, turned away from Montero and fired under Buffon's legs.
Dida saved brilliantly from Zalayeta before the striker was substituted for Trezeguet. Buffon
tipped over a Pirlo free kick. Del Piero latched onto a loose ball and fired a shot at goal, the ball
hit Laursen and rolled just wide of the post. Dida pulled off just an amazing, amazing save
from a goal bound Nedved header.

Assist : Pirlo
