SERIE A ROUND 27

6 April 2003

INTER 3-3 ROMA
Vieri 52 Cassano 46
Recoba 58 Di Biagio 83 (og)
Emre 76 Montella 84

Cassano received a pass from Totti about 30yds from goal, ran forward and shaped
to cross then hit a sudden shot which caught Toldo cold. Excellent finish. Inter were
level minutes later when Vieri raced onto a Di Biagio long ball and fired past Pelizzoli.
Recoba quite simply should not have scored Inter's second goal. With his back to goal
he ran straight into four defenders, he kept going forward, kept dribbling and somehow
managed to make room for a shot which flew inside the post. Impossible goal. Christian
Zanetti and Vieri missed Conceicao's cross, Emre didn't, 3-1. Cuper took off Emre and
a heavy, heavy price. Toldo made a phenomenal save to deny Totti. Di Biagio put the ball
into his own net under pressure from Panucci. Candela caught Morfeo dithering in
possession, pushed him off the ball and passed to Montella and he hit a brilliant curling
shot into the bottom corner. Montella could have scored a hat-trick, he shot against the
inside of the post and then his spectacular left foot volley sailed just over the bar.
Batistuta almost stole the match at the death for Inter but also saw a shot comeback off
a post.

Match of the season. Looks like the championship is staying in Turin.

PERUGIA 1-1 BOLOGNA

surprisingly Miccoli was involved. He teased a defender before chipping the ball
into the box, Fusani volleyed across the face of goal and Vryzas tapped in at the far
post. Bologna were equally dominant in the second half and Signori drew them level
with a close range effort following good interplay between Amoruso and Colucci.

PIACENZA 3-3 MODENA
Di Francesco 8, 67 Milanetto 24, 27 (Pens)
Maresca 91 Vignarolli 85

Juve reject Baiocco supplied the pass for Roma reject Di Francesco to volley Piacenza in front.
Two penalties sent Modena into the lead. Kamara took a tumble to win the first and Cristante
stupidly kicked Vignarolli in the back to give away the second. Milanetto went to Orlandoni's
left on both kicks. A brilliant cross from Tosto left Di Francesco with the simple task of heading
Piacenza level. Vignarolli looked to have won the match five minutes from time but Maresca
turned and volleyed home a late equaliser.

PARMA 1-0 MILAN
Adriano 77

Inzaghi missed a hat-trick of guilt edged chances. Aside from a Mutu shot, which was
brilliantly saved by Dida, Parma failed to put Milan under any real pressure until
Mutu burst down the left flank and pulled the ball to the back post and Adriano
cheekily back heeled past Dida. Seedorf wasted two chances and Inzaghi had a goal
disallowed for offside.

Milan are out of contention.

Assist : Mutu

from a diving header.
