Caccia knocked in a rebound. Brunner did his best to take Atalanta down to
Serie B with two incredible saves before finally being beaten from the spot.
Doni smashed in a second from close range.

Modena (37 points), Atalanta (35 points) and Reggina (35 points) are battling
to avoid the drop into Serie B. All three have tricky away ties to Brescia, Roma
and Bologna respectively. All three clubs could finish on 38 points which will
mean a play-off.

Roma dominated the first half, Chievo dominated the second. Roma picked
up two injuries ahead of Tuesday's Italian Cup final against Milan. Montella
is out with a broken nose and Lima is also a doubt.

Baggio scored another of his legendary goals. Appiah the ball into the box,
Baggio took a quick look at goal, turned and just before Stam could clear,
hit a first time lob over Peruzzi. Schopp gave away a penalty with a silly foul on
Stankovic. Mihajlovic smashed the ball down the middle. Cesar tapped in a Lopez
center at the end of the first half and Lopez capitalised on a mistake by Martinez
to give Brescia a long overdue thrashing.

Pirlo scored with a cheeky lob over Pagliuca from the penalty spot. Seedorf made
it 2-0 when Pagliuca froze on a low shot waiting for an offside flag. Inzaghi lobbed
Pagliuca for the third. Meghni's excellent first time shot gave Bologna a consolation
goal. Inzaghi missed an open goal then missed from the spot after talking Pirlo out
of taking a second penalty.

Pavan headed into his own net under pressure from Cannavaro. Kallon added a
second with a fantastic standing header.

An outstanding, one touch passing counter attack ended with Maresca lobbing
Frey. Hubner added a second just before half time. Gilardino headed Parma back
Into the match after Mutu hooked on a free kick. Adriano smashed in at the second
attempt after Guardalben made a point blank save and Mutu sent Piacenza into
Serie B with an excellent header.

Udinese guaranteed themselves a place in next season's UEFA Cup with two late
goals. Shortly after Jankulovski had scored with a stunning left foot shot Perugia
should have been awarded a penalty for handball. Jorgensen made sure of victory
with a well taken goal on the break.

Lippi understandably rested all his star players ahead of the European Cup
final against Milan. Di Michele tapped in after Buffon parried a fiercely struck
effort from Bonazzoli. A dreadful mistake by Belardi gifted Juve the equaliser,
as Zalayeta chased down a back pass Belardi tried to prevent the ball from
going out for a corner, he kicked it against Zalayeta, no goalie even Zalayeta
cant miss, 1-1. Buffon left the field in the second half with a shoulder injury
and his replacement, Chimenti, went missing on a corner allowing Bonazzoli
to head in what could prove to be a priceless winner.

Donati 85							Di Natale 66

The second best double act in Serie A (Mutu and Adriano being the first) gave Empoli
A deserved lead. With an outrageous touch Donati plucked a cross out of the air,
wrong footed Balleri and volleyed past Berti. Never thought Id say this but I think hes
ready for Milan.
