Honors Even In Derby of Italy

A dramatic five minutes bring alive the derby of Italy as Inter snatch a
point at home to Juventus. Milan go top with another thumping victory.
Roma make it three wins in a row - without inspirational captain Francesco
Totti and Enrico Chiesa fires two late goals as Lazio record their biggest
win of the season.

Adriano hit an phenomenal shot against the underside of the crossbar,
Brighi headed the ball goalwards but Ballotta scrambled to make an amazing
save. Adriano and Nakata went close before Mutu lashed a loose ball past
Ballotta to give Parma a deserved lead. Filippini should have wrapped
up the points when Adriano's clever chip put him clean through on goal
but he miss-hit and Ballotta recovered. Parma paid the price minutes
later. Kamara pulled the ball back from the touchline, Balestri helped
it on, Fabbrini turned and shot past Frey. Kamara tried his luck from
25yds, his luck was in as Frey made a terrible blunder - he got his angles
wrong and the ball rolled into the net.

Rivaldo opened his Serie A account when his speculative low drive hit a
defender and caught Taibi out at his near post. Milan reject Sala equalised
but Tomasson restored Milan's lead with a tap-in after Taibi blocked
Rivaldo's header. Rui Costa, who continues to suck though not as much as
last season, missed an open goal then threw himself down in the box to
win a penalty, Pirlo converted then sent a free kick sailing over the wall
into the net, via the crossbar.

Atalanta had their fair share of chances. 8-4 would have been a better reflection
on the balance of play.

Locatelli tapped in after Cruz headed against the crossbar. Cruz banged in a
penalty then scored a sensational second when he ran onto Nervo's wonderful
disguised pass, held off his marker, cut inside the box and drilled the ball into
the top corner.

Caccia headed Piacenza in front from Tosto's humungous throw in. Cardone
equalised with a superb own goal, heading Rossi's cross past his own 'keeper.

Simone Inzaghi finished off a superb one touch passing move to volley Lazio in
front. Chiesa hit two late goals, his first since returning from a career
threatening injury that cost him most of last season.

Garyza lobbed a hopeful ball into the box, Magallanes headed it down but
without any power. It should have been an easy save for Lupatelli but when
attempting to punch the ball away he sliced it into his own net. Horrendous
mistake. Ferrante volleyed against a post. Chievo should have been awarded
a penalty when Cossato was hauled down in the box.

Juve looked to have snatched the points in this dire encounter, predictably
from the penalty spot. Vieri scored a dramatic equaliser deep into injury time
from a corner. Buffon tried to clear the ball but was obstructed by the huge
frame of Toldo, the ball bounced off Toldo and Vieri got a touch to bundle
over the line.

Emerson tapped in from close range following a lucky deflection off Batistuta.
Candela smashed in a scored three minutes later. Di Natale punished terrible
defending by Samuel and Candela to give Empoli hope but Tommasi made sure
Roma won their third straight league game when he sent Berti's weak clearance
back with interest.
