SERIE A ROUND 4

28 September 2003

EMPOLI 2-2 LAZIO
Di Natale 74 Stankovic 38
Tavano 78 Fiore 87

Stankovic gave Lazio the lead with a deflected shot from the edge of the box. Lazio switched
off in the second half and paid the price. After several near misses Empoli scored two fantastic
goals. Di Natale made Peruzzi look like an idiot with a splendid lob then picked out Tavano
with a first time pass and he hit tremendous half volley from wide right on goal. A clever
back heel by Inzaghi set up Fiore for the equaliser. Corradi could have won it late on but
he's rubbish.

Assists : Grella, Di Natale, Inzaghi

Barbara Chiappini is advertising windscreen wipers. I'd buy anything she sells.

CHIEVO 4-1 PERUGIA
Zanchetta 40, 51 (Pen) Di Loreto 50
Semioli 65
Amauri 80

Despite dominating Chievo had to wait 40 minutes before taking the lead. Zanchetta scored
with a beautiful, curling free kick. Marchegiani gave Perugia an undeserved equaliser when he
dropped a routine catch. Zanchetta restored Chievo's lead from the penalty spot. Semioli added
a third following a mistake by Di Loreto and Amauri wrapped up an emphatic victory with a
stunning half volley.

Assists : Zanchetta, Semioli (won pen), Santana

MILAN 3-0 LECCE
Shevchenko 21, 69
Tomasson 90

Rui Costa shot against the crossbar and, because he's so useless, hit the post from 6 yards
out. Cafu was quick to react and fired a low cross to the back post and Shevchenko scored.
His second was outstanding. He received the ball on the edge of the box and slalomed his
way past two defenders before finding the bottom corner of the net. Maldini had a clear
run on goal but he got stage fright allowing the Lecce defence time to recover. Shevchenko
and Kaka combined to give Tomasson an easy third.

Assists : Cafu, Kaka

MODENA 2-0 BOLOGNA
Amoruso 17
Kamara 40

Amoruso, who actually ran offside more times than Inzaghi last season, looked offside
when he raced onto a long ball - a younger Pagliuca would have saved his shot. Kamara
volleyed in a second. Bologna came out fighting after half time but couldn't score.
Amoruso fell over when clean through on goal.

Assists : Mayer, Allegretti

PARMA 1-1 SIENA
Adriano 79 Lazetic 40

A bad mistake by Frey gave Siena a shock lead. Lazetic caught him out with a firm shot at
his near post. Parma should have been awarded a penalty for handball. Chiesa could have
sealed victory but missed from 6 yards out. Mignani tried to shepard a ball to his goalkeeper
but Adriano beat him to the ball and slid in the equaliser.

Assist : Ardito

ROMA 3-0 ANCONA
Montella 48
Totti 78
Delvecchio 86

Mancini's persistence was rewarded when he forced the Ancona defence to give up the
ball and threaded a pass through to Montella, he turned and shot instantly past Scarpi.
Zebina and Viali were lucky to escape reds. Zebina for persistent fouling and Viali for
chopping down Cassano as he did a pirouette on the touchline. Scarpi should have
done better when Totti connected with Mancini's free kick. Delvecchio scored the third
with a superb diving header.

Extravagant football by Roma, they could have scored 10 goals. Hard to believe this is a
Capello side. Mancini is the best signing any club in Europe has made this season.
I don't know how much Roma paid for him but he cost me £7 million in CM4.

Assists : Mancini, Mancini (fk), Dellas

SAMPDORIA 2-1 BRESCIA
Bazzani 88 Mauri 69
Flachi 91 (Pen)

Mauri scored from a Baggio corner but Samp hit back with two goals in three minutes.
Bazzani equalised with a stunning half volley then Flachi converted from the spot
when Castelazzi rushed off his line to punch a ball but smashed Yanagisawa in the face
instead.

Assists : Baggio, Flachi, Yanagisawa
Red Card : Petruzzi 94 (Brescia)

27 September 2003

REGGINA 0-2 JUVENTUS
								Di Vaio 13
								Nedved 50

Belardi spilled Nedved's cross, Sottil slipped under pressure from Maresca when attempting
to clear and Di Vaio chipped into an empty net. Nedved finished off an excellent move to
wrap up another easy victory.

Attendance : 24,082
Assist : Di Vaio
Red Card : Sottil 85 (Reggina)

UDINESE 0-0 INTER

Luciano was sent off for bringing down Jankulovski with a tackle from behind. Very harsh.
Udinese wasted numerous chances. Helveg conceded a penalty with a mindless rugby tackle
on Fava. Pizarro sent the penalty well wide of the post. Zanetti almost stole the points for
Inter but his long range shot rebounded back off a post.

Attendance : 25,000
Red Cards : Luciano 16 (Inter), Kroldrup 88 (Udinese)
