CAGLIARI 1-1

JUVENTUS

Zola 89

Emerson 54

The odds were against Cagliari as Arrigoni decided to field Patrick Swayze instead of
Langella. Swayze is dumber than a box of rocks and wasted Cagliari's only first half
chance with a typically poor finish. Not surprisingly there was controversy over Juve's
goal. Trezeguet was clear offside when he helped on Nedved's pass, Nedved took
the return, ran to the by-line and floated the ball to the back post for Emerson to
head in. Langella replaced Swayze and was denied an equaliser by Buffon. Appiah,
on as a substitute for Mr Average Blasi, blew three chances to clear a ball deep in
his defence, Brambilla fired a cross into the box and tiny Zola leapt above Zebina to
head past Buffon.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Nedved, Brambilla

ATALANTA 1-1

SIENA

Sinigaglia 20

Chiesa 43

Two excellent goals in a match between struggling teams. The Siena defence failed
to pick up Sinigaglia and he met Bellini's cross on the volley, sending the ball into
the top corner. Chiesa latched onto Innocenti's slack clearance and rifled the ball
into the bottom corner.

Attendance : 12,000
Assists : Bellini, n/a

CHIEVO 2-2

ROMA

Pellissier 15

Montella 34, 52

Tiribocchi 20

Samuel may be struggling at Real Madrid but without him Roma are pathetic. They
were caught out by a longball from Baronio, leaving Pellissier time to pull down the
ball and shoot past Pelizzoli. 5 minutes later the Roma defence ball watched as
Tiribocchi nonchalantly pulled down the Frenchman's cross and shot into the corner.
Cassano, Aquilani and Totti combined for Montella's first and the little aeroplane
equalised with a fantastic overhead kick.

Attendance : 9,523
Assists : Baronio, Pellissier, Totti (x2)

LAZIO 1-3

PALERMO

Bazzani 16

Toni 41, 89

Zauli 66

Bazzani marked his Lazio debut with a goal. Liverani, who has been excellent in recent
weeks, floated a ball into the box, Guardalben rushed off line and Bazzani headed
into an empty net. Lazio were punished for failing to take any of their numerous
chances. Toni headed in the equaliser from Corini's free kick and Zauli hit a stunning
second on the turn after Lazio failed to clear a cross. Santana laid on a second for
Toni.

Attendance : 35,000
Assists : Liverani, Corini (fk), n/a, Santana

LIVORNO 3-1

MESSINA

Vigiani 54

Giampa 78

Colombo 58
Protti 75

This was the Serie A debut for Roberto Donadoni, who had brief spells in charge
of Lecco in Serie C and Livorno and Genoa in Serie B. Vigiani shot Livorno into
the lead with a stunning long range strike. Colombo punished slack defending
from a free kick to equalise. Protti scored a third on the break. Giampa, who
needed 200 stitches after tearing a massive hole in his thigh in a horrible
accident a few months ago, fired in a late consolation goal.

Attendance : 16,000
Assists : Vargas, C Lucarelli, Passoni, n/a

MILAN 3-1

UDINESE

Shevchenko 30

Di Natale 8

Jankulovski 53 (og)
Kaka' 89

Udinese took the lead against the run of play thanks to an amazing goal. Iaquinta
held off Stam to lay on a pass to Di Natale, he flicked the ball up, turned and smashed
a half volley into the top corner. Milan created and wasted chances almost at will
with Seedorf, Crespo and Kaka' guilty of poor finishing. Crespo inadvertently helped
on Kaka's cross leaving Shevchenko with a tap-in at the back post.

Jankulovski, who may or may not be joining Milan next season, headed Seedorf's
cross into his own net. With Udinese forced forward Milan were tearing them apart
on the break. Kaka' wrapped up the points when he took the ball off Shevchenko,
dribbled past two players and did what he had failed to do all match i.e. find the
back of the net.

Attendance : 62,417
Assists : Iaquinta, Crespo, n/a, Shevchenko

PARMA 2-1

LECCE

Bresciano 53

Vucinic 82

Gilardino 96

Had Gilardino not dived twice when clear through on goal Parma would have been
out of site in the first half. He was successful in winning a penalty with his second
dive but Sicignano made a fantastic save. Parma were another penalty for handball.
Morfeo converted but Palanca made him retake it for encroachment and this time
he blazed over the bar. Bresciano took Marchionni's cross on his chest before
turning and shooting into the corner. Vucinic equalised with a superb header but in
the SIXTH minute of injury time Gilardino pounced after Lecce failed to clear a
corner.

It's only a matter of time before Zeman is sacked.

Attendance : 13,000
Assists : Marchionni, Giacomazzi, n/a

BRESCIA 1-1

FIORENTINA

Dipasquale 62

Miccoli 49

Miccoli intercepted a pass, played a one two with Fantini in midfield, made Di Biagio
look every bit of his 36 years when he flew past him, sent Castelazzi crashing to the
ground with a dummy and chipped the ball into the net. Fiorentina pissed away the
points following a defensive mix-up.

Attendance : 7,000
Assists : Fantini, n/a
