FIORENTINA | 1-2 |
ROMA |
Maresca 19 |
Cassano 23 |
|
Montella 67 |
||
The standard of Ayroldi's
officiating was matched by Pelizzoli's goalkeeping. Maresca dribbled past two players then tried his luck from about 30 yards, the ball bounced in front of Pelizzoli and he parried the midfielder's shot into his own net. Limp wrists are Pelizzoli's major weakness. I know an exercise for that. Cassano equalised less than five minutes later, Totti found him in space on the edge of the box and he shot under Lupatelli's legs. Montella scored the winner in a disappointing second half from a throw in. He let the ball bounce, turned Viali, ran across the by-line and shot in off Lupatelli. Attendance : 33,788 Assists : n/a, Totti, Sartor (throw in) |

JUVENTUS | 2-0 |
BRESCIA |
Trezeguet 11 | ||
Domizzi 43 (og) |
|
|
Having made the first goal for Trezeguet with
a fabulous cross, Ibrahimovic blazed over from close range. The giant Swede teased Zambelli on the left flank before dancing into the box and pulling the ball across the face of goal for Trezeguet which Domizzi inadvertently turned past his own 'keeper. Emerson was substituted with what looked like sore bollocks as he took an ice pack to his down belows and Nedved was stretchered off after he slammed his left leg into Domizzi when attempting a volley, very similar to the injury which ended his Euro 2004 campaign. Despite the injuries Del Piero watched the entire game from the bench. Attendance : 19,300 Assists : Ibrahimovic, n/a |

LAZIO | 1-2 |
SAMPDORIA |
Rocchi 62 |
Kutozov 25 secs |
|
Flachi 4 (Pen) |
||
Flachi seized the ball after Giannichedda
slipped on the edge of the box, he passed to Tonetto who completely miss-hit a shot and the ball fell to Kutuzov who slammed into the corner after 25 seconds. The Serie A record is 3 seconds, a shot from the halfway line by a Brazilian player. More calamitous defending forced Peruzzi off his line and he brought down Flachi to concede a penalty. Flachi hammered the ball into the roof of the net. Di Canio's theatrics earned his side a spot kick but Antonioli guessed right. Bazzani drew out Antonioli and centred for Rocchi to reduce the deficit. Rocchi came within inches of grabbing a point but his shot rebounded off a post. Attendance : 35,000 Assists : Tonetto, Flachi (won pen), Bazzani |

The result would have been quit different had
Kaka' not missed an easy chance early on. The Milan defence went to sleep on a free kick, Dida made an excellent save from Vidigal but Colombo tapped in the rebound. Nesta talked himself into a second yellow. Attendance : 25,000 Red Card : Nesta 93 (Milan) Assist : n/a |

Tedesco played a one-two with Bonazzoli on
the edge of the box, resisted a tackle and cut the ball back for Bonazzoli to poke into the corner. Pavarini made three excellent saves for the visitors and in injury time Udinese were caught out by a ball over the top, Sensini blew a chance to clear and Bonazzoli lobbed over De Sanctis to seal a rare away victory. Attendance : 15,000 Assists : Tedesco, n/a |
