ROMA 0-2

MILAN

Crespo 63

Pirlo 71 (Pen)

Roma's new coach Bruno Conti played in midfield alongside Ancelotti in Roma's
championship winning side of 1982-1983. The pair used to room together, prompting
Ancelotti to remark "I said goodnight to him more times than I have to my own wife."

The one positive to come out of this match for Roma was the performance of 19 year
old goalkeeper Gianluca Curci. He made an excellent early save from Kaka' as he
met a Pirlo free kick on the volley. In the second half Seedorf hit a longball towards
Crespo, he flicked it up with his right and struck a volley with his left but Curci was
quick off his line and managed to block. Cafu should have been sent off for an
appalling two footed lunge on Cufre which left the defender with his shin ripped
open. He only got a yellow card. Crespo put the champions in front 12 minutes
later, jumping above Panucci to head in Kaladze's cross. Curci denied Kaka' what
would have been a superb goal with another stunning save. Kaka' ran onto Kaladze's
back heel but shot wide with the goal at his mercy.  Panucci was sent off for punching
away Crespo's goal bound header, Pirlo put the resulting penalty straight down the
middle. Totti was sent off for kicking Ambrosini and then, surprisingly, didn't complain
but shook hands with the ref (Paparesta) before leaving the pitch.

Red Cards : Panucci 70 (Roma), Totti 90 (Roma)

Mareco 20

Pellissier 81, 88

Mareco gave Brescia the lead against the run of play with a looping header from
Milaneto's corner. D'anna equalised from the spot after Zambrella handled a cross.
Semioli headed a long ball onto Pellissier and thanks to a brilliant first touch he stole
a yard on Hugo before side footing into the corner. Mensah booted a ball out of
defence, Pellissier held off/fouled a defender before lobbing over Castellazzi, excellent
finish.

INTER 3-2

FIORENTINA

Cambiasso 27

Pazzini 40

Veron 53

Cordoba 67 (og)

Cordoba 65

Cambiasso gave Inter the lead with a stunning mid-air right foot volley. Adriano
went off with a knee injury following a collision with Maresca. Fiorentina scored a
wonderful equaliser. Maresca rolled the ball wide to Miccoli, he hit a high first time
pass to the back post, Chiellini headed down and Pazzini connected with an
overhead kick. Odobo was booked for feigning injury after Veron kicked the ball
against his right leg. Veron restored Inter's lead with a cracking shot from the edge
of the box. Cordoba scored twice in two minutes, the first a header from a
Mihajlovic corner and at the other end he couldn't get out of the way after Nakata
fired the ball across the face of goal.

LIVORNO 3-3

CAGLIARI

C Lucarelli 37, 63

Suazo 42, 49 (Pen)

Protti 38

Abeijon 92

Despite having his back to play and being surrounded by three players Lucarelli pulled
down a cross from Vigiani, turned and hit a stunning shot past Iezzo. Less than a
minute later Iezzo was picking the ball out of his net again as Protti latched onto a
hospital pass and hammered a shot into the corner. Swayze gave Cagliari a lifeline
with what was by his standards a well placed shot. Galante was sent off for clearing
the ball off his line, Swayze lashed the ball into the top corner. Lucarelli looked to
have given ten man Livorno the points with another excellent goal. Once again he
held off three defenders before curling into the corner. Bianchi flicked on a longball
and Abeijon controlled with his left before finding the corner with his right.

Attendance : 17,000

PALERMO

Morfeo 20

Cannavaro 14 (og)

Gilardino 51 (Pen), 93

Brienza 48

Toni 34 (Pen)

It was a bad day for Cannavaro Jr. He deflected Brienza's shot past his own 'keeper
than brought down Toni in the box after Morfeo had equalised. Brienza played a
one-two with Toni on the edge of the box and despite a poor first touch managed
to beat Frey with a high shot. Biava's handball right in full view of the referee
allowed Gilardino to reduced the arrears from the spot and he grabbed a last minute
equaliser after Ruopolo headed against the crossbar.

Attendance : 15,000
Red Cards : Cannavaro 38 (Parma), Contini 89 (Parma)

ATALANTA

Doni 31 (fk)

Makinwa 3

Natali 68

Volpi headed Bellini's cross straight to the back post leaving Makinwa with an
absolute gift. Samp were awarded a penalty for handball but Calderoni saved
brilliantly with his feet. Doni equalised against his former club with a fantastic
free kick. Both teams created and missed half a dozen chances before Natali headed
in Bernardini's free kick. Atalanta kept going forward and should have won
comfortably. Fantastic result and a fantastic performance but they're still 6 points
from safety.

Attendance : 23,000
Assists : n/a, ?, Bernardini (fk)

In a wide open match Pinardi slammed Cassetti's pass into the net. Muntari's dive

foot volley and just before full time ran across the box before meeting Di Natale's
cross with a powerful header.
