LAZIO 0-1

JUVENTUS

Nedved 85

Trefoloni is going to get absolutely slaughtered for his performance in this match.
He bottled out of every big decision. Siviglia (Lazio), Tacchinardi and Thuram should
have been dismissed. Thuram, who had been booked for a blatant handball, was
lucky not to concede a penalty when he bumped into one of the Filippini brothers in
the box.

Casazza, a second half substitute for the injured Peruzzi, made a brilliant save with
his chest from a Nedved drive. Tacchinardi escaped an early bath after chopping
down Giannichedda. Zalayeta headed down a cross to Nedved who was standing
centrally on goal in front of two defenders so run wide to make an opening before
lashing the ball into the roof of the net. Buffon, who had earlier embarrassed himself
when trying to dribble out of his box made a stunning save from an Oddo free kick.

REGGINA

Di Biagio 48

Stankevicius 77

Brescia's dead ball delivery won them a crucial three points in their battle against
relegation. Di Biagio headed in the first from Wome's free kick. Schopp volleyed
against a post after Reggina cleared a corner only as far as the edge of the box.
They made the same mistake minutes later but this time Stankevicius took full
advantage.

CHIEVO 1-1

CAGLIARI

Pellissier 32

Malago 73 (og)

Pellissier pulled down Zanchetta's long ball, let it bounce a couple of times and drilled
a low shot into the corner. Mensah got caught while trying to shepard a ball out of
play, under pressure from Alvarez he slipped, Alvarez centred, the ball evaded
Langella and Pisano but Gobbi arrived late and rifled past Marchegiani via a deflection
off Malago. Brighi should have scored on a rebound after Marchegiani failed to hold
his initial effort. Chievo are still a couple of wins away from safety.

MESSINA 2-1

INTER

Di Napoli 59

Cruz 46

Rafael 93

Storari had a super game for Messina but was finally beaten early in the second half
when Cruz reacted quickly to put away a deflected cross. Di Napoli equalised with a
brilliant header. Veron's spectacular 40 yard shot came back off a post. Inter poured
forward in search of the winner, Martins wasting two chances. Substitute Rafael hit
a last minute winner when Materazzi screwd up playing offside on Donati's through
pass. Messina join Milan as the only teams to have beaten Inter this season.

Attendance : 37,000
Assists : n/a, D'Agostino, Donati

SAMPDORIA 2-1

ROMA

Tonetto 33

Montella 93 (Pen)

Flachi 79 (Pen)

Diana found Flachi on the edge of the box with a cross from the right, Flachi hit a
beautiful reverse pass into Tonetto, Mexes slipped and Tonetto shot past Cerci.
Doni made the most of a stupid push by Doni to win a penalty. Cassano did the same
at the other end to hand Montella his 21st goal of the season.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Flachi, Doni (won pen), Cassano (won pen)

SIENA 2-3

UDINESE

Maccarone 9

Di Michele 5, 52

Taddei 56

Iaquinta 65

Di Michele played in a fetching pink kit, at least I think it was pink, the picture was
so dark it was hard to tell. Di Michele scored one of the goals of the season after
five  minutes. With his back to play he turned onto a throw in and hit a fabulous right
foot volley, the ball sailed through the air before dipping under the top corner.
Maccarone equalised four minutes later by heading in Chiesa's free kick. Siena sprung
their offside trap as Di Michele turned onto Pazienza's pass and poked into the
corner. Once again Siena hit back quickly. Chiesa dummied Maccarone's pass and
Taddei curled the ball inside the post. Mauri managed to run down a ball that was
heading out of play and passed for Iaquinta to score the winner.

Attendance : 11,000
Assists : Pizarro (throw in), Chiesa (fk), Pazienza, Maccarone, Mauri

MILAN 3-0

PARMA

Kaka' 33

Tomasson 61

Cafu 70

Two of Milan's misfiring forwards got a huge boost with goals in what was the team's
most comfortable victory in some time. Parma, unlike other smaller clubs, attack
regardless of the opposition. Dida was forced into making a first minute save from
future team-mate Gilardino. Kaka' blazed over after Frey spilled a shot from Kaladze.
Frey parried a shot from Rui Costa, a fantastic tackle denied Tomasson a chance on
the rebound, Shevchenko fired off a shot but the ball was headed away then Kaka'
arrived to slam into the net. Kaka' stole a ball in his own half and sent Shevchenko
clear on the break and he unselfishly centred for Tomasson to score Milan's second.
Cafu volleyed in a third after Shevchenko had a shot charged down. Inzaghi made
the latest of his comebacks attempts 12 minutes from time. Shevchenko was
furious with Ancelotti when being subbed.
