FIORENTINA 1-2

JUVENTUS

Pazzini 39

Trezeguet 8

Camoranesi 88

Fiorentina's offside trap gifted Juve the lead. Emerson threaded a ball through to
Ibrahimovic and he raced into the box before centring for Trezeguet to tap-in.
Fiorentina struck the woodwork twice before deservedly getting themselves level with
a wonderfully constructed goal. Fiore flicked on Danadel's pass sending Pasqual racing
down the left, he whipped the ball into the box and Pazzini jumped above Cannavaro
to head into the corner. Brocchi wasted a great chance to give Fiorentina the lead
when he shot straight at former Milan team-mate Abbiati. At the other end Frey saved
brilliantly from Trezeguet. In the second half Pazzini sent Toni clear but as Abbiati
rushed his line the giant striker rolled the ball against the inside of a post. Under
pressure from Trezeguet Pancaro failed to clear Ibrahimovic's long ball and
Camoranesi took the ball on his chest before slotting inside the post to complete a
hugely fortuitous victory but to be fair to Juve it was probably their only once this
season. Realising the importance of this match Capello left Del Piero on the bench
and it was Mutu who made a late appearance for Trezeguet as a substitute.

Attendance : 43,537
Assists : Ibrahimovic, Pasqual, Trezeguet

LAZIO 3-2

SIENA

Di Canio 42

Bogdani 53

Cesar 61

Peruzzi 91 (og)

Tare 80

Di Canio gave Lazio a deserved lead when he tapped in after Tare forced Mirante into
making a save. The huge Bogdani (what's the deal with all these tall strikers in
Italy?) headed in an equaliser from Foglio's Beckham quality cross. Cesar restored
Lazio's lead after some lovely ball juggling from Pandev. Pandev then dispossessed
Vergassola in midfield, rode a tackle and laid on a second for Tare. There were two
Albanian international's in this match, Bogdani and Tare, and they both scored and
they are both giants, what are the chances? In injury time while Peruzzi was trying
to gather a cross he pulled the ball into his own net.

Attendance : 35,000
Assists : n/a, Foglio, Pandev, Pandev, n/a

PALERMO 2-2

CAGLIARI

Caracciolo 20

Conti 64

Makinwa 22

Bega 87

Bizera hesitated as Caracciolo chased down a longball, he brushed aside the defender's
feeble challenge before lobbing over Campagnolo. Two minutes later Cagliari came
unstuck from another longball, this time Makinwa flew past Caini and lobbed over
a grounded Campagnolo who had slipped as he came off his line. For the third time?
this season Palermo pissed away a two goal lead. Conti scored Cagliari's first with a
sharp turn and shot. Caracciolo should have finished off Cagliari when Corini sent him
clear. Three minutes from time Bega jumped though a static Palermo defence to
volley Cossu's free kick past Guardalben.

Attendance : 26,209
Assists : Barone, Corini, Langella, Cossu (fk)

REGGINA 2-1

PARMA

Cozza 10

Cardone 13

De Rosa 21

Cozza scored direct from a corner. Cardone equalised with a great flick header from
Cigarini's free kick but Parma's joy was short lived as another Cozza corner proved
un-defendable and was met emphatically by De Rosa.

Attendance : 15,000
Red Card : Morfeo 69 (Parma)
Assists : n/a, Cigarini (fk), Cozza

SAMPDORIA 2-0

EMPOLI

Borriello 78

Flachi 87

Samp dominated from the start but the only two clear cut chances they managed to
create were brilliantly saved by Berti in the Empoli goal. Borriello had an immediate
impact after coming on as a sub for Bonazzoli, leaping between two defenders to head
in Pisano's cross. Flachi scored a fantastic second goal. Cutting in from the left he
rode two tackles before drilling a low shot inside the post.

Attendance : 21,000
Assists : Pisano, Tonetto

UDINESE 0-2

LIVORNO

Odobo 9 (og)

Lucarelli 72

Iaquinta was rested ahead of Udinese's crucial Champions League match. He can get
all the rest he wants, if Barca want the three points they'll take them.

Lucarelli aside Livorno have real problems scoring so they were thankful when Odobo
sliced a cross into his own net. Udinese were all over Livorno but failed to take any
of the numerous chances they made. Bakayoko (the former Everton player?) broke
on a counter attack and passed the ball wide to Balleri and Lucarelli smashed his
centre past De Sanctis.

Barreto seems to have taken my criticisms on board as he now has a sensible haircut.

Attendance : 15,000
Assists : n/a Balleri

LECCE 2-2

ROMA

Cozzolino 51

Cassano 20

Vucinic 57 (Pen)

Nonda 45

Cassano surprised Sicignano with an improbable lob, 'the keeper back peddled but
could only help the ball into his own net. Roma doubled their lead right on
half-time. Bovo ran onto a hurried clearance and struck the ball first time, it
cannoned off Nonda leaving Sicignano rooted on his line. Cassano almost scored
the goal of the season when he met Taddei's cross with a scissor kick - from
just inside the box but Sicignano saved. Valdes began the comeback with a
fantastic piece of skill. As he ran onto a loose ball he motioned to shoot
before stopping just on the point of impact and flicked the ball in the opposite
direction to Cozzolino, the young striker fired into the bottom corner. This
Valdes is a great find. The ref gave Vucinic a penalty for nothing. Both teams
hit the woodwork, Roma twice in an excellent final hour. Great match.

Attendance : 14,781
Assists : Taddei, Bovo, Valdes, Vucinic (won pen)

CHIEVO 2-1

MILAN

Pellissier 45

Kaladze' 22

Tiribocchi 82

Things seemed to be going well for Milan when they took the lead mid-way through
the first half. Kaladze met Pirlo's free kick with a firm header, Squizzi
parried but the defender quickly got to his feet to stab in the ball. Shevchenko
missed an absolute sitter, somehow managing to slice the ball wide with an empty
net at his mercy. Kaladze, who set-up the chance for Shevchenko, was responsible
for Chievo's equaliser. He played Pellisier onside as Milan were camped in their
penalty area, the striker controlled Mandelli's excellent first time pass on his
chest before rifling a volley into the bottom corner. Chievo's two substitutes
combined for the winner. Tiribocchi played a one two with Obbina, who managed to
ay the ball off before being fouled by Stam, raced away from a surprisingly slow
Nesta then curled the ball inside the right hand post.

Attendance : 14,733
Assists : n/a, Mandelli, Obbina
