MILAN 4-3

PARMA

Cardone 27 (og)

Cannavaro 24

Gilardino 29

Marchionni 69, 84

Kaka' 36
Shevchenko 80

Dida dropped an absolute bollock to give Parma the lead. Bresciano swung a corner
into the box, Dida jumped for the ball, unchallenged, caught it then dropped it, leaving
Cannavaro with a tap-in. The goal sparked some much needed urgency into Milan and
they blitzed Parma with a three goal ten minute spell. Cardone turned Kaka's centre
past his own 'keeper. Gilardino, predictably, scored against his former club with a
brave header from Shevchenko's superb cross. Kaka' fired in the third after Shevchenko
had a shot charged down. Parma got themselves back in the match seconds after Milan
had a goal disallowed for a lazy offside. Contini hit a long ball out of defence to
Dossena. Kaladze, who was employed at centre back (and was horrible) failed to get
tight enough allowing the midfielder to turn and play in Marchionni who had all the
time in the world to pick his spot. Shevchenko darted across the box onto substitute
Rui Costa's pass to score what proved to be the winning goal. Marchionni profited
from more poor defending and Dida's suspect 'keeping to setup a tense finish.

If this doesn't convince Milan management that the defence needs an immediate
overhaul nothing will.

SAMPDORIA 0-2

LIVORNO

Lucarelli 8, 90

Lucarelli punished some non existent defending from Samp with a thumping diving
header. Without top striker Bonazzoli, who is probably out for the rest of the season
with a knee ligament injury, Samp's usual mix of long balls and crosses from the flanks
were useless. Flachi got a second yellow for handball. Lucarelli, the master of the late
goal, beat Antoniolli with a superb curling effort from the edge of the box.

Attendance : 24,000
Red Card : Flachi 73 (Sampdoria)

CHIEVO 3-1

LECCE

Pellissier 19, 52

Del Vecchio 29

Zanchetta 90 (fk)

Sicignano's dreadful goalkick went straight to Semioli and as the Lecce defence were
advancing forward the midfielder's lofted pass sent Pellissier clear, 1-0. Del Vecchio,
not to be confused with the hopeless former Roma and Italy striker Marco Delvecchio,
managed to volley in an equaliser despite being fouled by a defender. Pellissier
restored Chievo's lead when he pounced on a poor clearance from Ledesma. Shots
were raining in on goal at both ends but Zanchetta made sure of the points with a
fantastic free kick.

LAZIO 4-1

ASCOLI

Di Canio 28

Parola 14

Mudingayi 33
Pandev 73
Tare 81

Things started well enough for Ascoli when Parola hit a stunning shot past Peruzzi
from the edge of the box. Lazio scored a brilliant equaliser. Di Canio played the ball
into Liverani before heading into the box, Liverani hit a beautiful disguised pass out
wide to Pandev, Pandev centred and Di Canio arrived to volley in at the back post.
Mudingayi scored his first ever Serie A goal with a tap-in after Coppola had saved
from Rocchi. Di Canio was denied a second goal by a blind linesman. Pandev, who had
hit the woodwork with a stunning shot from 30 yards, headed in Lazio's third and
Tare made it 4-1 with, believe it or not, an amazing overhead kick! As Pandev pulled
down a deflected cross Tare flicked the ball up with his left foot and from the penalty
spot hit an overhead kick into the bottom corner with his right.

EMPOLI 1-3

MESSINA

Almiron 35

Muslimovic 8, 60

Di Napoli 75

A hilarious opening goal. Sculli chipped a ball upto Muslimovic, Berti came off his line,
Muslimovic stuck the ball under his legs and Berti looked like complete pillock as he
turned and ran back in vain. Messina failed to clear a left wing cross, the ball bobbled
to the edge of the box and Almiron crashed home a right foot volley. Empoli wasted
several chances to take the lead and Pratali handed the initiative back to the visitors
when he got himself a second yellow card for being an idiot. Sculli and Muslimovic
combined again for the second goal, Muslimovic volleying the strikers header into
the bottom corner. Sculli completed a hat-trick of assists with a fine cross to the back
post for Di Napoli.

Attendance : 4,900
Red Card : Pratali 55 (Empoli)

CAGLIARI 2-1

UDINESE

Sensini 38 (og)

Sensini 29

Langella 86

Cagliari's 'keeper made a mess of a free kick allowing old man Sensini to head in his
first goal of the season. Di Natale should have finished Cagliari off when their offside
trap sent him clear but he dragged a shot wide of a post. Sensini got Cagliari back in
the match with an extremely unlucky own goal, Conti's free kick took a deflection off
his shoulder leaving Paoletti stranded. Obodo and Pinzi earned second yellows for
tactical fouls. Pinzi's dismissal prompted Sonetti to bring on Capone and the midfielder
burst into the box and, with the help of a deflection, set-up Langella to slam home
the winner.

Attendance : 7,000
Red Cards : Obodo 77 (Udinese), Pinzi 83 (Cagliari)

REGGINA 1-1

FIORENTINA

Lucarelli 12

Jorgensen 13

Vigiani headed on a corner and Lucarelli volleyed in at the back post. Fiorentina were
level less than a minute later. Toni headed on Brocchi's cross and Jorgensen headed
past Pavarini.

Attendance : 10,000
Assists : Vigiani, Toni

PALERMO 1-2

JUVENTUS

Terlizzi 12

Mutu 15, 34

Despite a strong challenge from Chiellini, Terlizzi managed to keep his balance and
fired in Corini's deflected cross. Terlizzi was at fault for Juve's equaliser, his sliced
clearance fell to Camoranesi on the right side of the box, Lupatelli punched out his
cross, Ibrahimovic chipped the ball upto Mutu, his header came back off the post,
Mutu controlled the ball on his chest, skipped past Terlizzi's desperate lung and
slammed the ball into the back of the net. Juve took the lead against the run of play.
Vieira flicked on an Ibrahimovic pass, Mutu instantly controlled the ball on his knee
before slotting into the corner. Juve should have been awarded a penalty for handball
(makes a change). Trezeguet and Ibrahimovic struck the woodwork. Palermo wasted
two great chances to equalise but in truth they were clearly second best.
