LECCE 0-2

INTER

Figo 72

Stankovic 93

Figo broke the tedium in this horrible match when he slammed Stovini's hurried
clearance past Benussi. Cassetti wasted a great chance to equaliser when Cesar
came off his line for a cross and missed the ball completely. Deep into injury time
Adriano laid the ball onto Stankovic and his fiercely struck shot went through Benussi.

ASCOLI 1-3

JUVENTUS

Ferrante 33

Trezeguet 8, 13, 18

Emerson picked the pocket of a defender before running into traffic, with the ball
bouncing Camoranesi hit an unbelievable cross over the back post and Trezeguet took
the ball on his chest before volleying into the bottom left corner. Superb goal.
Trezeguet headed down a Nedved longball and after a bit of ball juggling Del Piero
played in Camoranesi and he centred for the Frenchman to tap-in his second.
Trezeguet completed his hat-trick with another tap-in after Del Piero skinned a
defender on the edge of the box. Ascoli scored on the break after Del Piero gave away
the ball with a loose pass, Foggia sent Comotto down the right, he pulled the ball back
across the box and Ferrante blasted into the top left corner.

The big problem with watching any match Juve play at home is everything appears so
underwhelming and unimportant because three people turn up. Instead of seeing
players celebrate near thousands of cheering fans they're giving each other high fives
in front of empty seats.

Attendance : 20,000
Assists : Camoranesi, Camoranesi, Del Piero, Comotto

CHIEVO 4-0

REGGINA

Amauri 47, 88 (Pen)
Pellissier 74, 94

Amauri opened the scoring early in the second half with a brilliant header from Lanna's
cross. Chievo doubled their advantage following a quick break. Amauri, who had his
back to goal, laid on Giunti's pass to Pellissier and his low, first time shot had too
much pace for Pelizzoli. Amauri smashed in the third from the penalty spot and
Pellissier completed a flattering victory when he pounced on De Rosa and scored at
the second attempt after Pelizzoli saved his initial effort.

Attendance : 4,900
Assists : Lanna, Amauri, Semioli (won pen), n/a

EMPOLI 1-2

PARMA

Tavano 59 (Pen)

Marchionni 44

Bresciano 79

Marchionni, who is suddenly flavour of the month having done nothing in the first half
of the season, tapped Parma into the lead against the run of play after Tavano gave
the ball away in his own penalty area when trying to dribble past a defender, IDIOT.
He made amends by converting a fortuitously awarded penalty. Empoli were looking
good for a second before a moment of magic from Morfeo turned the game in Parma's
favour. Bolano headed down a cross, Morfeo's back heel took out two defenders and
Bresciano's first time shot flew in off a post.

Attendance : 5,100
Assists : Morfeo, Busce (won pen), Morfeo

LIVORNO

Pfertzel 31 (og)
Totti 41 (Pen)
Taddei 61

Bovo touched a free kick to Totti and his shot took a wicked deflection off Pfertzel.
Totti made it 2-0 from the spot after Coco pulled back Taddei. Totti sent Taddei clear
and he beat Amelia with a precise low shot inside the post.

MILAN 1-1

SAMPDORIA

Shevchenko 12 (Pen)

Gasbarroni 36

Volpi climbed over the back of Inzaghi leaving De Sanctis no choice but to point to the
penalty spot. Shevchenko sent Antonioli the wrong way. Dida, who passed a late
fitness test, made another shocking mistake. Gasbarroni, who should have won a
penalty earlier, tried his luck from distance and Dida, who only needed to stick out
an arm to punch the ball clear, didn't react. Samp hit the woodwork twice in quick
succession. It took Milan an hour to find their feet but despite all their possession
only Seedorf threatened with a low drive that beat Antonioli but not the post.

It's going to be a long five months for Milan supporters.

Attendance : 55,000
Assists : Inzaghi (won pen), n/a

PALERMO 1-3

SIENA

Godeas 67

Bogdani 29, 57, 64

Fortin found Bogdani with a monstrous goalkick but the striker lost possession however
Barzagli gave the ball straight back and Bogdani played a one-two with D'Aversa and
while the Palermo defence waited for offside he rolled the ball into the net. Minutes
after Fortin made a brilliant save from Terlizzi's scissor kick, Bogdani headed in
Siena's second from Paro's free kick. He completed his hat-trick with another header
as once again the Palermo defence appealed in vain for offside. Di Michele laid on a
consolation goal for Godeas.

Luigi Del Neri was sacked shortly after the end of this match and can have no
complaints. This team should be pushing for a European place. As for Del Neri his
coaching career is in the toilet. He worked wonders at Chievo and since then had a
short, embarrassing spell at Porto followed by an utterly disastrous few months at
Roma. Giuseppe Papadopulo, who did a fine job with Siena and Lazio, will replace
Del Neri.

Attendance : 26,428
Assists : D'Aversa, Paro (fk), Vergassola, Di Michele
