INTER 1-2

JUVENTUS

Samuel 74

Ibrahimovic 63

Del Piero 85 (fk)

Inter thought they had taken the lead when Adriano sent a perfect free kick curling
over the Juve wall and into the top corner. Their celebrations were cut short when
they realised that the free kick was indirect - the ref gave them enough warning.
Camoranesi sent a low cross into the box Samuel, with one eye on Trezeguet, was
slow to react as were Cordoba and Zanetti and Ibrahimovic punished them
thoroughly. Samuel took his revenge with a CRIMINAL foul on Ibrahimovic that could
have done some serious damage. The defender made amends for his part in the goal
by heading in the equaliser from Figo's corner. Cordoba, who was given the
run-around by Nedved (it sure beats being given the reach around) conceded a free
kick with his second challenge on the Czech midfielder in as many minutes. Del Piero,
on as a sub for Ibrahimovic, sent the ball screaming into the top corner. Burdisso,
one of the two utterly mediocre Argentineans on the field (Kily Gonzalez was the
other) missed an open goal, heading wide after Recoba's free kick rebounded off
a post.

Juve forced Cesar into two excellent saves and also went close with another effort.
Inter were pathetic and didn't create anything of note, at least from open play.
They got exactly what they deserved - nothing.

LIVORNO 2-0

FIORENTINA

Lucarelli 67 (Pen), 76

Fiorentina were awarded a penalty for an extremely debatable handball. Toni sent
the ball a bit too centrally but nonetheless Amelia made a fantastic save. Livorno's
penalty was equally suspect only they converted. 10 minutes later Colucci floated a
cross to the back post Lucarelli waited for the ball to drop before volleying into the
corner.

Roma are slowly, and almost surely, eating away at Fiorentina's increasingly loose
grip on fourth place. Toni hasn't been getting much support in recent months, Fiore
has been terrible and neither Bojinov or Pazzini can take up the slack.

Attendance : 15,000
Red Cards : Mutti 66 (Livorno), Dainelli 66 (Fiorentina)

REGGINA 1-4

MILAN

Paredes 10

Inzaghi 14, 52, 93

Gilardino 37

Another calamitous piece of non Milan defending gave Reggina the lead. De Rosa
hit a long ball forward, the Milan defence appealed for offside and with Dida way off
his line Paredes sent a header looping over him into the net. Inzaghi wasted a
fantastic run by Kaka' by shooting straight at the 'keeper but scored at the second
attempt - after controlling the ball with his hand. Reggina threatened to restore their
lead on a number of occasions before the introduction of Serginho (for Simic) who had
an immediate impact. He whipped a cross to the far post and Gilardino spectacularly
headed Pelizzoli. Inzaghi made the result safe (there's no way Reggina are capable
of scoring three goals) when he slammed in Kaka's centre. Reggina should have been
awarded a penalty for a blatant handball by Serginho. In injury time Kaka' and
Serginho combined on the left, Serginho fired the ball across the face of goal, two
defenders missed, Inzaghi didn't, hat-trick.

Attendance : 15,000
Assists : De Rosa, n/a, Serginho, Kaka', Serginho

SAMPDORIA 4-2

MESSINA

Castellini 19

Muslimovic 17

Volpi 69 (Pen)

Di Napoli 89 (Pen)

Tonetto 80
Foti 95

Samp dominated the early stages but fell behind when Pisano, under pressure from
Di Napoli, hit a clearance across his box and Muslimovic tapped-in. Castellini
scored an immediate equaliser, tapping in Foti's centre. Foti was brought down
for a penalty after Storari was sold short on a backpass. Storari was sent off,
harshly in my view, and his replacement, Caglioni, almost saved Volpi's penalty.
Tonetto benefited from another terrible mix-up in the Messina defence to make it
3-1. The ref thought the game could use some late drama so dreamed up a penalty
for Messina. Di Napoli blasted the ball into the bottom corner. To their credit
Samp kept pushing forward and deep into injury time Diana pulled down a
crossfield pass before firing through the legs of a defender and 17 year old
Foti was on hand to score his first ever Serie A goal.

Attendance : 20,000
Red Card : Storari 65 (Messina)
Assists : n/a, Foti, Foti (won pen), Donati (won pen), Diana

SIENA 0-2

ROMA

De Rossi 70

Mancini 94

Locatelli conned the ref into awarding a penalty. Totti spoke to Chiesa as he was
preparing to take it and whatever he said worked because Chiesa sent the ball high
over the crossbar. Roma were playing terrible football and their defence gave up
chance after chance which the home side kept failing to take. Some of the misses
were unbelievable. De Rossi turned on a pass and beat Fortin with a stunning
35 yard effort which started centrally before swerving wide into the corner. It was
a hell of a strike. Doni made a brilliant save at the other end before Mancini lobbed
in a second on the break. Roma can made it 10 wins in a row if they beat Empoli at
home next week. Shouldn't be too difficult....

Attendance : 14,000
Assists : Chivu, Totti

TREVISO 1-2

CHIEVO

Borriello 77

Tiribocchi 39, 48

Chievo had threatened to take the lead on a number of occasions before a clever
ball from Semioli found Tiribocchi unmarked in the middle of goal and he couldn't
miss. Early in the second half Giunti launched a ball over the Treviso defence and
Tiribocchi wasn't exactly under a great deal of pressure as he pulled it down and
picked his spot. Boriello missed a completely open goal following a terrible blunder
by Fontana and Reginaldo but was more accurate from 25 yards after Pingu rolled
forward a free kick and he smashed it into the bottom corner. Sereni saved a late
penalty from Amauri.

Attendance : 5,000
Assists : Semioli, Giunti, Pinga (fk)

LAZIO 1-1

UDINESE

Rocchi 20

Iaquinta 26 (Pen)

Rocchi gave Lazio the lead with a running header from the most magnificent of
crosses by Oddo but undid all his hard work by giving away a penalty. He kicked
Vidigal as he ran onto a loose ball while Lazio were defending a corner. On
initial viewing it looks like a complete dive (and Vidigal did put some sugar on
top) but this was a great spot by the ref. Iaquinta smashed the ball into the
bottom corner.

Attendance : 20,000
Assists : Oddo, Vidigal (won pen)
