Mancini 44

Totti 56 (Pen)

Mancini 82
Biava 91 (og)

Both teams had goals disallowed in what was a fairly evenly contested first
half. Mancini gave Roma the lead with a bolt out of the blue, a swerving first
time strike from the edge of the box. Totti went top of the scoring charts from
the penalty spot after Pisano fouled Taddei. Both players combined to send
Mancini racing clear to score a third. In injury time Totti's attempted lob took
a deflection off Biava wrong footing Jimmy in the Palermo goal.

with a brilliant left foot volley.

MESSINA

Materazzi 49

Ibrahimovic 59

Figo chipped a cross into the box, Ibrahimovic headed on and Materazzi, standing
on the penalty spot, slammed a left foot overhead kick into the bottom corner of
the net. Maicon received a pass on the half-way line and pushed the ball inside
a Messina player before running into a huge gap straight down the middle, as two
defenders moved in to close him down he flicked the ball to Ibrahimovic and he
took it on his left foot before shooting in off Storari, who probably should
have saved.

Red Card : Giordano 48 (Messina)
Assists : Ibrahimovic, Maicon

LIVORNO 1-1

LAZIO

Lucarelli 65

Pandev 25

The outstanding Goran Pandev gave Lazio the lead with another high quality goal
on his 100th appearance for Lazio. Ledesma fired in a cross from the left flank
and Pandev, standing side on, pulled down the cross and as the ball bounced up
he smashed in a volley on the turn. Pasquale whipped a cross over to the back
post and Lucarelli leapt above everyone to head in the equaliser.

CHIEVO

Budan 25

Zanchetta 23 (Pen)

Dessena 58

D'Anna 65

Zanchetta took over penalty duties in the absence of the suspended Obinna and
made no mistake. Chievo appeared to get out of jail when Muslimovic seemed
certain to score after he caught Sicignano miles off his line only to be denied
by Marchese's sensational clearance however Grella knocked the ball back into
the box as the Chievo defence ran out to play offside Budan lifted the ball over
a prone Sicignano. Dessena gave Parma the lead with a brilliant strike from
distance. D'Anna took advantage of wretched defending from a corner to head in
the equaliser.

Attendance : 14,000
Assists : Pellissier (won pen), Grella, Budan, Tiribocchi

REGGINA 0-1

SAMPDORIA

Quagliarella 68

Quagliarella scored one of the best overhead kicks you are ever likely to see.
Flachi swung in a corner, Quagliarella, who was being manhandled by a defender,
jumped in the air and with both feet off the ground swung his right foot around
the ball, volleying it into the roof of the net and landed on his feet.
Absolutely and utterly brilliant.

Attendance : 11,000
Assist : Flachi (ck)

SIENA 1-1

MILAN

Mutu 20 (Pen), 76

Gilardino 3, 89

Brocchi chipped a ball into the box and Gilardino ran through Ujfalusi's
despairing lunge onto the ball and just beat Frey as he dived at the striker's
feet with a perfectly placed lob. Mutu equalised from the spot after the ref
gave Fiorentina an extremely charitable penalty for handball. Kaladze attempted
to clear a Jorgensen cross but ended up slicing the ball to Mutu who calmly shot
wide of Kalac. Jankulovski helped on a Gourcuff corner and Gilardino's flick
header beat Frey from close range.

CAGLIARI

Pinzi 17

Cocco 83

Iaquinta 27
Obodo 51

Iaquinta hit a delightful pass out wide to Di Natale, Di Natale checked inside a
defender but over hit his cross, Iaquinta headed the ball down and Pinzi
volleyed in from six yards. The home side doubled their advantage following a
lightning raid down Cagliari's right flank. Barreto gathered Di Natale's pass
and hit a low centre into the box, two Cagliari defenders got in each others way
when attempting to clear leaving the big man with an easy finish. Muntari was
sent off for an appalling foul from behind on Capone. Di Natale split the
Cagliari defence with a pass inside four defenders and Obodo broke through the
offside trap before rolling the ball past Fortin. Cocco scrambled in his first
Serie A goal. Suazo, who is again being linked with a transfer with the window
impending, was totally anonymous.
