CHIEVO 2-2

ROMA

Bogdani 17

Totti 34, 48

Semioli 33

Doni was at fault for both of Chievo's goals. He ball watched Bogdani's slow
motion header, which was more of a back-pass then a shot, bounce past him then
as Pellissier's clever back heel was chased down by last season wonder Semioli
he rushed out of his box and got nowhere near either ball leaving the midfielder
with an empty net. Cassetti headed on a corner and Totti bravely threw himself
at a boot level header into a corner. Early in the second half D'Anna slipped
while battling Totti for possession of a long ball and the Roma captain managed
to hot just as Squizzi crashed into him.

EMPOLI 3-1

MESSINA

Saudati 14

Alvarez 89

Marzoratti 35

Saudati 62

Two brilliant headers put Empoli 2-0 up before half time. De Vezze was sent off
for arguing with a linesman. These type of dismissals are common in Serie A,
Wayne Rooney would be sent off every other week if English referees weren't such
utterly incompetent cowards. Saudati completed a hat-trick of headers for the
home side before Lavecchia threaded a peach of a pass through for Alvarez (on
loan from Roma) to score a consolation goal.

Attendance : 1,000
Red Card : De Vezze 55 (Messina)

LAZIO 3-1

CATANIA

Pandev 60

Colucci 17

Siviglia 88
Rocchi 95

Colucci headed Catania into the lead from a corner. Mascara blew a great chance
to double the visitors advantage late in the first half when he failed to
capitalise on a slip by a defender. Pandev scrambled in the equaliser at the
second attempt after his close range effort was initially saved. Siviglia rammed
in the winner after Tare headed on a Ledesma free kick and in the last minute of
injury time Rocchi ran onto Lucenti's hospital pass, rounded the 'keeper and
tapped into an empty net.

FIORETINA

Foggia 57

Mutu 86 (Pen)

Foggia went close for Reggina in the first half with an overhead kick. He struck
the woodwork in the second half before collecting the rebound himself and with
Bianchi unmarked in the centre of goal he decided to shoot from a stupid angle
but got a wild deflection leaving Frey helpless. Mutu equalised from the penalty
spot for a very soft handball decision against Aronica.

SAMPDORIA 2-1

ATALANTA

Bazzani 71

Ventola 8

Volpi 83 (Pen)

Multiple injury prone reject Ventola collected a pass with his back to goal, cut
inside Bastrini and beat Castelazzi with a right foot shot into the bottom
corner. Atalanta were cruising and looked certain to add a second goal before
Palombo hit a stunning shot from 30 yards which took a massive deflection off
Bazzani as it flew past Calderoni. The luckless Talamonti gave away a penalty
with what on first viewing appeared to be a clear handball but replays showed
the ball struck his mid-riff. Sucks to be him. Volpi converted in the absence of
coke head Flachi who faces a lengthy ban after failing a drugs test.

INTER 1-1

UDINESE

Crespo 66

Obodo 47

Obodo scored his second goal of the week and it was an absolute beauty. Coda
headed down a corner, Obodo juggled the ball off his right knee before blasting
an overhead kick past Toldo. Maxwell, who looked so good at Ajax but has been
crap in his Inter performances so far, made the equaliser with a superb cross
which Crespo met with a far post header.

Inter's record for successive league victories ends at 17.

Attendance : 38,496
Assists : Coda, Maxwell
