MILAN 3-1

EMPOLI

Ronaldo 12

Saudati 43

Gilardino 44

Favalli 79

Ronaldo capitalised on a slip from defender Raggi onto Kaka's pass and threw a
series of stepovers at Pratali before blasting a left foot shot into the roof of
the net. Former Milan striker Saudati scored a brilliant equaliser. Empoli won a
free kick on the right hand edge of the penalty area and with everyone in the
box, Vannucchi sent a cross sideways along the D, Saudati ran in from the right
and volleyed into the right corner. Milan hit back immediately. Three defenders
swarmed on Ronaldo as a clearance fell at his feet, he lobbed the ball over
their heads to Gilardino, he flicked the ball up in the air and volleyed into
the corner. An excellent passing move down Empoli's right ended with Favalli
running onto Pirlo's cutback and shooting inside the post.

CATANIA 0-2

ROMA

Tavano 37

Vucinic 83

Spalletti understandably rested his big guns (Totti, Mancini, Taddei and Chivu)
ahead of next week's Champions League match against Manchester United. Pizarro's
longball hit Vucinic on the shoulder and fell kindly to Tavano who lashed into
the net. As Catania were disputing the award of a free kick for a foul on
Tavano, Perrotta passed to Vucinic and he took advantage of the confusion to
score his second goal of the week.

sending Reginaldo clear on the break to open the scoring then blasted a
stunning, swerving right foot shot past Eleftheropoulos. In between Mutu missed
another penalty. Toni latched onto a deflected pass and tapped in Fiorentina's
third, despite a defenders attempts to wrestle him to the ground. Fiorentina's
two Danish players combined for the fourth, Jorgensen with the cross and
Kroldrup with a header at the far post.

PALERMO 1-3

CAGLIARI

Bresciano 3

Suazo 38 (Pen), 86

Pepe 82

Bresciano gave injury hit Palermo a perfect start when he followed up a one-two
with a low drive past Chimenti . Palermo's chances of ending a 7 match winless
streak went up in smoke when Biava earned a second yellow for a clumsy challenge
on Suazo in the box. Pepe raced away on a counter attack to give Cagliari the
lead against his former club. Suazo gained possession on the half way line and
sent D'Agostino between two defenders with a fantastic disguised pass and
despite being clear through on goal the midfielder unselfishly centred for Suazo
to tap-in his 11th goal of the season.

Palermo's idiot president, Maurizio Zamperini, said Guidolin would be sacked
after the match but has now back-tracked :

"If Guidolin does go, there will be an internal solution to ensure the players
face up to their responsibilities which are many. Now I will eat my Easter egg
and then make a decision."

Negro 81

Iaquinta 60

Di Natale smacked a loose ball into the bottom right corner after Iaquinta fell
when trying to control a cross. The giant striker chased down a long ball and
flicked it over Manninger's head before tapping into an empty net. Maccarone
gave Siena hope with a close range diving header. 34 year old defender Negro
completed a remarkable comeback with a 20 yard shot which looped over De Sanctis
before dropping into the bottom corner.
