Because of a journalist strike there was no commentary on any of the highlights
which made doing these reviews a major pain in the arse so I take no
responsibility for any mistakes!

PALERMO 2-1

MESSINA

Zaccardo 25

Rigano 7

Di Michele 41 Pen

Typical. Palermo keep only their second clean sheet of the season against Milan,
having conceded 12 goals up until that point, yet were already behind after just
7 minutes against mid-table Messina. Masiello swung a high cross over to the
back post and three defenders watched Rigano head past their 'keeper. Zaccardo
equalised from a corner and Di Michele won the match from the penalty spot after
Messina defender Rea jumped on him piggy back fashion.

Attendance : 28,547
Assists : Masiello, Brienza (ck), Di Michele (won pen)

Jankulovski 31

Attendance : 12,343
Assist : Brocchi

SIENA 1-1

CATANIA

Frick 47

Corona 90

Edusei kicked the ball against Frick when trying to clear a through pass, it
rolled wide to Bogdani, his cross came back off the bar and Frick, off balance
and in a bad position threw himself at the ball and it clipped his heels before
bouncing over the line. Siena paid the price for their atrocious long range
shooting when in injury time Corona tapped in the equaliser following a
goalmouth scramble.

Attendance : 6,500

EMPOLI 1-1

UDINESE

Matteini 60

Obodo 57

Obodo scored on the rebound after Iaquinta's header came back off the crossbar.
Vannucchi forced De Sanctis into making a great one handed save on a free kick
and from his resulting corner Matteini headed in the equaliser.

Attendance : 5,000
Assists : n/a, Vannucchi (ck)

ROMA 2-2

ASCOLI

Totti 49

Delvecchio 22

Mexes 90

Bjelanovic 64

Panucci and Ferrari collided when attacking a cross and former Roma striker
Delvecchio was first to react, jumping to head the ball past Doni. Perrotta
touched a free kick to Totti who hit a fantastically violent shot past Pagliuca.
Bjelanovic got above Mexes to head in Lukovic's cross. Totti won a penalty and
blasted the ball straight down the middle at Pagliuca. Mexes and Totti made
amends for their earlier mistakes with the equaliser.
Pagliuca spilled Totti's deflected free kick and Mexes thumped a high shot into
the roof of the net.

Attendance : 32,000
Assists : n/a, Perrotta, Lukovic, n/a

ATALANTA 3-3

CAGLIARI

Loria 4

Bianco 6

Ventola 58

D'Agostino 30

Doni 69

Suazo 54 Pen

Both teams traded headers from free kicks. D'Agostino put Cagliari in front with
an excellent diving header and won the second half penalty from which Suazo made
it 1-3. Ventola scored a tap-in after a defender headed against his own crossbar and
Doni completed another miserable day for Cagliari, who are yet to win this season,
by heading in Bernardini's corner.

Attendance : 13,000
Assists : Bernardini (fk), Budel (fk), Pisano, n/a, D'Agostino (won pen), Bernardini (ck)

SAMPDORIA 2-0

LAZIO

Quagliarella 53

Volpi 75 Pen

Fresh from his brace at the weekend youngster (well at 23 he's young by Italian
standards) Quagliarella forced Belleri into making a mistake as he chased down a
long ball, he cut inside the defender then hit a firm shot straight at Peruzzi
and he couldn't prevent the ball from hitting the back of the net. Lazio were
looking good for an equaliser until Siviglia conceded a penalty.

Attendance : 19,000
Red Card : Stendardo 71 (Lazio), Pandev 91 (Lazio)
Assists : n/a, Olivera (won pen)

INTER 4-1

LIVORNO

Pfertzel 2 og

Lucarelli 70

Materazzi 13

Ibrahimovic 71
Cruz 78

Pfertzel, standing near the far post, tried to kick Recoba's cross out for a corner
but buggered up his angles and put the ball into his own net. France's favourite
Italian, Marco Materazzi, doubled Inter's lead with a bullet header from Recoba's
corner. Lucarelli pulled a goal back, completely against the run of play with,
predictably, a header. Stankovic played a one-two with Cruz before running into
the box and leaving Ibrahimovic with a tap-in. Cruz headed in a fourth to complete
the champions most emphatic victory of the season ahead of the Milan derby. Milan
are screwed.

Attendance : 39,000
Assists : n/a, Recoba (ck), Prates, Stankovic, Figo (ck)

REGGINA 3-2

PARMA

Amoruso 33, 77

Budan 39

Bianchi 76

Gasbarroni 84

The tiny Brazilian Leon, who is having an incredible debut season (shame he's
27) served up another assist for Amoruso to head Reggina into the lead. Budan
equalised with a bullet header. Amelia made a hat-trick of great saves in quick
succession on one attack before he was finally beaten by Bianchi. Amoruso made
it 3-1 with a superb first time strike from the edge of the box. Gasbarroni
pulled a goal back following a quick exchange of passes but in stoppage time
Amelia was lucky to avoid a red card when he clipped Tedesco on the edge of the
box as he ran in on goal.

Attendance : 15,000
Red Card : Contini 73 (Parma)
Assists : Leon, Cigarini, n/a, Modesto, Muslimovic
