ATALANTA 1 (Zauri 49 og)
FIORENTINA 2 (Jovetic 59 Pen, Gilardino 89)

Plasmati came off the bench to give Atalanta the lead with a deflected shot. Peluso floored Gilardino to concede the equalising penalty and earn a red card his stupidity warranted. Flop Jovetic converted to score his first Serie A goal. Gilardino got the jump on Capelli to tap in Semioli's centre.

Given Mutu has been in and out of the starting XI due to injuries Prandelli is doing a marvellous job.

JUVENTUS 3 (Chiellini 34, Morero 53 og, Iaquinta 79)
CHIEVO 3 (Pellissier 25, Pellissier 44, Pellissier 91)

Sardo fired a magnificent pass down Juve's left channel inside two defenders, as Pellissier raced clear Buffon ran way off his line, towards the edge of the box, Pellissier rounded him and from a tight angle squeezed the ball inside a post. Chiellini scored a fantastic equaliser. As a corner was cleared Camoranesi ran away from goal and backheel volleyed a pass, Chiellni ran in from the left and lashed a lashed a bouncing ball in off the underside of the crossbar. Chievo's second was almost identical to their first. Luciano sent a ball over the top of two defenders, Pellisier ran between both of them and tapped wide of the poorly positioned Buffon. Why didn't he stay on his line? Camoranesi forced the equalsier with a double deflection and then it was one way traffic. Sorrentino made point blank saves from Iaquinta and Trezeguet who also went agonisginly close with a back heel. Iaquinta headed in what should have been the winning goal from Camoranesi's cross but Pellissier struck in injury time. Yepes and Mellberg battled for possession on the left touchline, Langella arrived to support his team-mate, gathered the loose ball, held off Mellberg and raced upfield before hanging a cross upto the back post and the unmarked Pellissier completed a rare hat-trick. I'm sure you can count the number of players who have scored a hat-trick against Buffon on one hand, in fact I believe Brescia's Ricardo Serafini is the only other player to achive that feat and those goals included an incredible 25 yard volley and an overhead kick.

ROMA 2 (Totti 12 Pen, Totti 58 Pen)
BOLOGNA 1 (Marazzina 26)

Marazzin headed in a corner to cancel out Totti's 12th minute penalty. The following 30 minutes were absoutely superb with both sides peppering the opposition goal, shots hitting the woodwork, cleared off the line and saved. It was a shame the winner came from the penalty spot. Castellini went to ground to challenge Baptista but pulled out and didn't make any contact, nevertheless Baptista ran into him and hit the dirt, Totti hit the back of the net.

SAMPDORIA 2 (Palombo 28, Palombo 63)
NAPOLI 2 (Zalayeta 44, Denis 92)

Pazzini touched a free kick to part-time Italy midfiedler Angelo Palombo and his fantastically violent shot pierced the the top left corner of Navarro's goal. Zalayeta headed Napoli level just before the break. Sampdoria lined-up another free kick from even further out and this time Palombo waved the option of a pass from a team-mate, he hammered the ball goalwards and despite getting a touch, his shot proved too hot to handle for the well placed Navarro. Denis pushed over his marker Gastaldello, giving him the space to turn onto Hamisk's pass and squeeze the ball past Castelazzi.

SIENA 2 (Calaio 25, Maccarone 85)
LAZIO 0

Calaio stripped a Lazio defender of possession in midfield and flicked the ball out wide to Vergassola before breaking for the box, Vergassola swung in a cross, Calaio bounced the ball on his chest, taking him away from Cribari, then hit a firm toe poke into the bottom left corner. Calaio should have scored a second but missed an open goal after Ghezzal sent him clear of Lazio's offside trap. Lazio, probably feeling the effects of having so many players away on international duty, only troubled the promising Curci once. Ghezzal hoofed a longball out of defence towards Maccarone, Muslera took a leaf out of the Peruzzi school of goalkeeping and made a made rush off his line, completing missing the ball only this time Siena's striker hit the back of the net.

MILAN 2 (Ronaldinho 91, Inzaghi 93)
LECCE 0

Milan scored two late goals their second half pressure deserved. In the closing minutes Benussi made a spectacualr one handed save to claw away a Ronaldinho free kick and was a passenger from the resulting corner when Senderos' header bounced wide of a post. The on loan Arsenal defender proved decisive. He met a Pirlo free kick with a firm header, the ball boucned off Ronaldino's head and over Benussi. With his fragile confidence restored he played in Shevchenko on the overlap with a lovely back heel and Inzaghi met his cross with a diving header.
