ATALANTA 0
MILAN 1 (Kaka' 80)

Attendance : 20,100
Assists : Borriello

CAGLIARI 2 (Acquafresca 30, Fini 54)
CHIEVO 0

Acquafresca hit a brilliant opening goal. He pulled down Fini's pass before cracking a right foot half volley into the top corner. Cagliari's first goal at home in almost two months. Chievo bollocked up playing offside, leaving Fini with enough time and space to recover from a poor first touch and score a second.

With Toni in such poor form and Euro 2008 still fresh in the memory there's an opening for a 6ft footer in the Italy squad and Acquafresca is a stronger long-term bet than Borriello.

Attendance : 12,000
Assists : Fini, Biondini

INTER 0
GENOA 0

Attendance : 55,000
Red Card : Juric 60 (Genoa)

REGGINA 2 (Corradi 60 Pen, Corradi 92 Pen)
LECCE 0

The ref awarded a penalty to Reggina for a foul on Vigiani then suddenly changed his mind. Minutes later Russo pointed to the spot after Polenghi sacked Corradi but inexplicably failed to book the defender. Reggina's second penalty was utter bullshit and once again Corradi made no mistake.

Attendance : 11,695
Assists : Corradi (won pen), Carmona (won pen)

SAMPDORIA 2 (Delvecchio 63, Bellucci 74)
BOLOGNA 0

Franceschini flicked on Padalino's cross towards Delvecchio and the midfielder scored with an unspectacular overhead kick. Bellucci added a second on a Cassano lead counter attack with a typically assured finish, driving the ball between Antonioli's legs.

Attendance : 21,000
Assists : Franceschini, Cassano

UDINESE 3 (Di Natale 10 Pen, Floro Flores 22, Di Natale 52)
ROMA 1 (Totti 74 Pen)

Roma were unlucky to concede a 10th minute penalty. Tonetto didn't appear to make contact with either Floro Flores or the ball. Di Natale whacked a long ball out of his own half towards the general direction of the Roma goal. Floro Flores beat Loria to the bounce, Doni came off his line but despite being forced wide the striker still managed to squeeze his shot into the net. Domizzi kicked Vucinic from behind, earning the striker a ludicrous yellow card for simulation. Floro Flores' clever back heel released Di Natale on the break and with only Panucci covering he raced upfield before slotting into the bottom corner. Totti converted a gift of a penalty to score his first goal in 7 months.

I thought Spalletti would be toast tonight but he's been bailed out by Roma's President Rosella Sensi who has pathetically played the conspiracy card. Spalletti has promised to change his tactics.

Attendance : 15,000
Assists : Floro Flores, Di Natale, Floro Flores, Brighi (won pen)

PALERMO 1 (Simplicio 50)
FIORENTINA 3 (Gilardino 19, Mutu 41, Mutu 61)

Gilardino got goal side of Dellafiore and attacked a Santana cross, he sliced his shot in the air then punched the ball in with his wrist cue furious protests from Palermo. Minutes after Frey made a brilliant one handed save to deny Bresciano Fiorentina doubled their lead on the break. Santana played the ball out of defence to Gilardino, he turned on the wingers pass with a first time centre and Mutu took a touch before tapping into the corner. Balzaretti won a ball in midfield and drove forward before playing the ball out wide to Miccoli, Cavani miss-hit his centre and Simplicio lifted the ball over Frey as he dived in with a crazy two footed challenge. If he took the hit it would have been a red card for Frey and a trip to hospital for Simplicio. Kjaer cleared a cross on the edge of his box but Liverani gave the ball straight back to the opposition with a sloppy back-pass, Comotto got a yard on Bresciano before driving a low centre across goal and Adrian 'The 8 Ball' Mutu slammed a first time shot into the bottom corner.

Attendance : 21,679
Assists : Santana, Gilardino, Cavani, Comotto

25 October 2008

SIENA 1 (Calaio 75)
CATANIA 1 (Mascara 80 Pen)

Calaio beat two defenders to Del Grosso's brilliant cross and sent a towering header past Bizarri. Five minutes later Calaio lost possession in midfield to Paolucci, he raced upfield and as he ran into the box Curci flew off his line and chopped him down to concede the game tying penalty.

Attendance : 9,000
Assists : Del Grosso, Paolucci

JUVENTUS 1 (Amauri 48)
TORINO 0

Attendance : 22,114
