INTER 5 (Eto'o 7 Pen, Balotelli 34, Balotelli 42, Eto'44, Milito 83)
PALERMO 3 (Miccoli 49, Hernandez 61, Miccoli 67)

Balotelli danced around in the Palermo penalty area, eventually drawing a foul from Melinte. Eto'o converted to end a five game goal drought. Balotelli headed in Inter's second from a corner. Sirigu jumped for a cross as Kjaer tried to clear, he pushed the ball against his centre-back, Cambiasso headed the ball goalwards and Balotelli stabbed in over the line. Samuel headed a goalkick back into the Palermo half, Balotelli hounded Migliaccio, checked inside him and cut back for Eto'o to blast in #4.

Simplicio hit a brilliant longball out of his half over the top of the Inter defence and as Julio Cesar came off his line the pocket rocket lobbed over him into an empty net. 19 year old Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez tapped in a Cassani centre. Inter's defence refused to wake-up, Miccoli was allowed to turn in the box and beat Julio from an acute angle. Maicon accelerated away from a defender on the left, skipped over a challenge in the box and centred for Milito to end Palermo's comeback hopes.

29 October 2009

BOLOGNA 2 (Adailton 16, Osvaldo 59)
SIENA 1 (Calaio 87)

Brandao kicked fresh air when attempting to clear a longball and Adailton ran through before thumping a left foot shot past Curci. Valiani played in Lanna on the overlap and Osvaldo headed in his second goal in four days. Calaio's late header wasn't enough to save Giampaolo's job. Youth team coach Marco Baroni takes over.

Attendance : 14,000
Assists : n/a, Lanna, Maccarone

CATANIA 1 (Mascara 42 Pen)
CHIEVO 2 (Mantovani 32, Marcolini 75)

Catania coach Gianluca Atzori appeared to be moisturising his face before kick-off. He may not be in a job much longer but he cuts a dashing figure on the bench.

Mantovani fired Chievo into the lead with a superb left foot volley. Marcolini shot a penalty against the inside of a post. Mascara made no such mistake when Ricchiuti was felled by Yepes. Andujar punched out a cross, Marcolini met it with a thundering volley over the Argentine goalkeeper and under the crossbar.

Attendance : 12,000
Assists : Bentivoglio (ck), Ricchiuti (won pen), n/a

GENOA 2 (Palladino 43, Mesto 73)
FIORENTINA 1 (Marchionni 63)

Palladino, Genoa's once highly rated but poor forward, scored a lovely opening goal. He broke from the Fiorentina defence to take a cross on his chest and backheeled past Frey. Amelia fumbled a Marchionni shot. 10 minutes later Palacio picked out Mesto with a fantastic cross and he beat Frey at his near post.

Attendance : 26,000
Assists : Sculli, Pasqual, Palacio

JUVENTUS 5 (Amauri 26, Chiellini 42, Camoranesi 50, Amauri 62, Trezeguet 88)
SAMPDORIA 1 (Pazzini 64)

Amauri began the rout from a corner. Chiellini broke from defence, played a ball out wide to Amauri and got on the end of his deflected centre to send Juve into a commanding half time lead. Camoranesi's goal followed good combination play between Juve's midgets, Diego and Giovinco who could prove to be a great midfield partnership if Ferrara gets over his DM fetish. Camoranesi made Juve's fourth, a superb Amauri diving header. Bellucci intercepted as a Juve defender attempted to bring the ball out of defence and Pazzini hammered his cross in off the underside of the bar. Amauri was denied the opportunity to score his first Juve hat-trick and would have looked on from the bench with envy as Grosso's inswinging cross hung in the air for Trezeguet to head in Juve's fifth.

Attendance : 30,000
Assists : Sissoko, n/a, Giovinco, Camoranesi, Grosso

NAPOLI 2 (Cigarini 90, Denis 93)
MILAN 2 (Inzaghi 2, Pato 5)

Pirlo launched himself at a ball following a spot of head Tennis by the Napoli defence, Seedorf volleyed a pass expertly between Napoli's centrebacks and Inzaghi let the ball bounce once before driving past De Sanctis. Milan's second was almost a carbon copy. Seedorf and Inzaghi flicked on a Zambrotta longball, Inzaghi's header sent Pato clear. Abate was rightly sent off going in late on Gargano. With his pace he has no excuse for making these types of challenges. Seedorf cleared a corner only as far as the edge of the D and Cigarini return it with interest with a blockbuster volley which flashed past Dida. Three minutes later Maggio crossed from the right and Denis headed in the equaliser.

Attendance : 58,000
Red Cards : Abate 86 (Milan)
Assists : Seedorf, Inzaghi, n/a, Maggio

PARMA 2 (Bojinov 57, Paloschi 66)
BARI 0

Parma's young strikers scored fantastic goals in this unlikely battle between two teams chasing a Champions League place, at this stage of the season at least. Bojinov had his back to play on the edge of the box as he collected a pass, he turned away from a defender before striking a shot with such force both feet left the ground as the ball veered into the top left corner. Paloschi scored an impossible goal. Off balance with a defender hacking at his feet from a ridiculous angle he somehow managed to lob over Bari's goalkeeper from 12 yards. You couldn't replicate that in a video game. Extraordinary goal.

Attendance : 16,012
Assists : Morrone, Castellini

UDINESE 2 (Floro Flores 21, Floro Flores 84)
ROMA 1 (De Rossi 42)

D'Agostino's fantastic free kick was begging to be headed into the net and Floro Flores duly obliged. Handanovic kept out Juan's header from a corner but De Rossi was first to the rebound. Roma should have held out for a point but another Doni blunder condemned Ranieri to a third successive defeat. The inept Brazilian let a Floro Flores header squirm underneath his feet. Julio Sergio should never have been dropped.

Another crisis begins for Roma. Without Totti this side is a joke.

Attendance : 14,000
Red Cards : Taddei 48 (Roma), Basta 78 (Udinese)
Assists : D'Agostino, n/a, Sanchez (ck)
