Valdes was sent off for a late foul on Jorgensen and his coach quickly joined him for taking his protests too far. Jorgensen got an inadvertent assist off the ref, who let play continue, Jorgensen headed for the comfort of the left flank, swung in a cross, Gilardino shanked his effort, a defender misjudged the bounce and Gilardino poked over Consigli as he dived at his feet.

GENOA 2 (Palacio 14, Palladino 66)
PARMA 2 (Biabiany 36, Biabiany 59)

Palacio somehow managed to push away Lucarelli, who towers above him, to chase down Criscito's longball and shoot past Mirante. With his back to play Galloppa flicked on a goal-kick, spun away from his marker onto a backheel return pass, threaded a ball between two defenders and Biabiany fired between Amelia's legs. Criscito, under pressure from Lanzafame, inadvertently flicked on a pass and Biabiany tapped in his second. Milanetto attempted to play a one-two with Floccari on the edge of the Parma penalty area but Palladino intervened and caught Mirante by surprise with a quick left foot drive.

De Sanctis made a fantastic point blank save from Baretto but Bari's giant centre back headed in the rebound. Bari lost Parisi to a ludicrous yellow card. Maggio took advantage of the hole in Bari's defence to head in the equaliser from Quagliarella's cross. Quagliarella made a run off the shoulder of a Bari defender, onto Lavezzi's pass and steered the ball inside the left post. Ranocchia saw red for a late foul on Lavezzi.

MILAN 3 (Borriello 2, Seedorf 21, Pato 23)
SAMPDORIA 0

Milan made short work of a Sampdoria side in freefall. Antonini intercepted a Cassano pass and surged forward before passing to Ronaldinho and Borriello beat Pato to head in his cross at the back post. Milan's second was almost carbon copy. Seedorf spread the play out to Ronaldinho, ran into the box onto the Brazilian's centre and thumped a left foot shot into the top corner. Borriello setup Pato for the third, the Brazilian scored at the second attempt after Castelazzi saved his initial effort.

It should come as no surprise to learn that Ronaldinho is now Serie A assist leader with somewhere in the region of 8 assists. If he started to score goals from open play Milan really would have a chance of winning the scudetto.

Attendance : 50,000
Assists : Ronaldinho, Ronaldinho

JUVENTUS 2 (Melo 20, Marchisio 58)
INTER 1 (Eto'o 28)

Chiellini made poor contact with a Diego free kick, Del Piero miscued a volley, the ball bounced off his shin, hit Melo's knee and wrong footed Julio Cesar in the Inter goal. Mourinho was dismissed for the second time this season for protesting over the award of the free kick. Muntari should have been sent off for going through the back of Caceres then pulling his hair. Eto'o took advantage of appalling marking to head in Stankovic's cross. Samuel was booked for kicking Del Piero and lucky not get a second yellow when he wrestled Chiellini to the ground. Marchisio, the new Marco Tardelli, sealed his place in Lippi's Italy squad with a magnificent goal. Julio Cesar spilled an effort from Sissoko, Marchisio touched the ball from his left foot onto his right as Samuel slid in with a tackle, he quickly moved it back onto his left, taking it away from Lucio before lifting over Julio Cesar. Del Piero dived under a challenge from Samuel, Milito tried to con the ref into awarding a penalty, Melo elbowed Balotelli in the chest so he clutched his face as he fell, earning Melo a red and himself a yellow for simulation. A brawl broke out in which Motta and Buffon manhandled each other, while this was going on Chivu walked upto Sissoko and pushed his head into his face, Sissoko dived, held his face and rolled around. Pathetic.

A typically ill tempered game between this two sides. There should have been at least 4 more red cards - for Samuel, Buffon, Motta and Muntari.

Attendance : 25,530
Red Cards : Mourinho 21 (Inter), Melo 87 (Juventus)
Assists : Del Piero, Stankovic, n/a
