ATALANTA 1 (Guarante 23 fk)
BOLOGNA 1 (Peluso 82 own goal)

Viviano saved Valdes' 15th minute penalty, Adriano caught the rebound on the volley but Portanova cleared with a spectacular diving header. The home side took the lead minutes later when Guarante curled a stunning 30 yard free kick into the left corner. On the stroke of half time Pellegrino was booked for pulling down Portanova in the Atalanta penalty area. The Atalanta players lost it and laid siege to the ref, Pellegrino was shown a second yellow for abusive language then, after consulting with one of his linesman, the ref didn't award a penalty as the ball had gone out of play! Atalanta goalkeeper Consigli parried a shot from Jimenez, in attempting to blast the ball clear, at least that's what I think he was trying to do, Peluso side footed into his own net. He broke down in tears - had Atalanta held on for victory they would have been a point clear of relegation.

Attendance : 44,000
Red Card : Pellegrino 45 (Atalanta)
Assists : Amoruso (won fk), n/a

BARI 3 (Meggiorini 57, Castillo 85, Barreto 89)
GENOA 0

Both teams had European aspirations earlier in the season but have fell away in recent weeks. After some unbelievably bad finishing Meggiorini skipped over a suicidal sliding tackle before blasting Bari into the lead. Gasperini was sent off for arguing with the ref. Castillo beat a poorly positioned Scarpi and Barreto became the third Bari player to score with a left foot shot.

Attendance : 15,000
Red Card : Gasperini 59 (Bari)
Assists : Koman, Donati, Masiello

CAGLIARI 2 (Lazzari 15, Jeda 58)
UDINESE 2 (Di Natale 26, Sanchez 28)

Lazzari met Jeda's cross with a powerful header into the ground. Di Natale angled his run onto Pepe's magnificent reverse back-heel pass before slotting into the corner. Goal #26. Midget Sanchez punished shocking marking to head Udinese in from a corner. Allegri's half time team talk put a bullet up Matri's arse, he forced two saves from Handanovic and on the second occasion Jeda tapped in the rebound.

Attendance : 6,000
Assists : Jeda, Pepe, Pepe, n/a

CATANIA 1 (Silvestre 24)
JUVENTUS 1 (Marchisio 52)

Potenza curled a free kick into the box, Terlizzi connected with a diving header, Buffon made a fantastic point blank save but was beaten by Silvestre on the follow-up. Marchisio combined with Poulsen on the edge of the box, his half volley deflected off two Catania defenders and he scored on the rebound. Buffon made a brilliant late save from Maxi Lopez.

This weekend's results mean if Benitez is Liverpool or Juventus coach next season he won't plague the Champions League with his pitiful brand of football, press conferences filled with a sea of lies or his bulbous fat head.

Attendance : 18,582
Assists : n/a, n/a

CHIEVO 1 (Granoche 75)
NAPOLI 2 (Denis 46, Lavezzi 86 fk)

Denis' low bouncing header gave the visitors a deserved half-time lead. A dreadful mistake literally handed Chievo the equaliser, De Sanctis pushed Bentivoglio's lame shot to Granoche and the striker side-footed in his second goal of the season. Another goalkeeping blunder guaranteed Napoli a place in next season's Europa League. Lavezzi's low free kick went through a large gap in the Chievo wall then through Sorrentino's legs. Zuniga did a Busquets to get Morero a second booking.

Napoli are a centre forward away from being a top four team. I'm sure I said that last season as well.

Attendance : 11,049
Red Card : Morero 89 (Chievo)
Assists : Campagnaro, n/a, Zuniga (won fk)

SAMPDORIA 2 (Cassano 2, Ziegler 84 fk)
LIVORNO 0

The confused defending of Livorno's centrebacks gave Sampdoria an early lead. One went with Pazzini and Perticoni made a pitiful attempt to track Cassano, Cassano touched the ball past him with his right foot and beat De Lucia with a low left foot drive. Livorno missed two 100% chances to equalise then as the rain belted down Ziegler smashed a free kick into the bottom left corner.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Palombo, Pazzini (won fk)

SIENA 1 (Calaio 80)
PALERMO 2 (Cavani 24, Miccoli 58)

Cavani ending a run of five games without a goal when he pounced on Nocerino's cross with a close range volley. Siena blew several chances to equalise. Pratali slipped as he attempted to clear Balzaretti's centre, Miccoli turned onto the fullback's pass and poked the ball past Curci. Calaio' grabbed a consolation goal with a glancing header.

Attendance : 11,156
Assists : Nocerino, Balzaretti, Maccarone

LAZIO 0
INTER 2 (Samuel 46, Motta 70)

Muslera had a FANTASTIC game. In first half injury time Samuel took a leaf out of Pique's book and joined the Inter attack from open play. Sneijder curled a high ball into the box and Samuel got above a defender and Eto'o to finally beat Muslera. Uruguay's #1 made a brilliant save to deny Eto'o but from the resulting corner Motta met Maicon's cross with a bullet header.

In the lead up to this match Rocchi claimed Lazio would put up a fight. Maybe that's why he started on the bench because they didn't. They laid down and died. During the match Lazio fans held aloft banners. After the first goal went in they revealed one that read "Oh no" and at full time "Scudetto Game Over".

Chievo could give Inter a hard time but really it's over and the one person Roma have to blame above every other isn't Ranieri but Mr. Roma himself Francesco Totti. His wasteful finishing against Sampdoria last week put Inter back in the driver's seat.

Attendance : 55,000
Assists : Sneijder, Maicon

1 May 2010

PARMA 1 (Lanzafame 81)
ROMA 2 (Totti 5, Taddei 75)

Totti used his arm to control a lofted pass then lobbed over Mirante. Excellent finish but how the ref, who was standing just yards away from Totti, failed to spot the handball is a mystery. Taddei, who is available on a Bosman at the end of the season, headed in a Totti cross. Julio Sergio conceded an embarrassing goal, misjudging the flight of a Lanzafame header. Jimenez was shown a second yellow for tripping Totti, who, as usual, made a meal of the challenge. Parma's goalkeeper was lucky not to join Lanzafame after first getting into a heater argument with Totti then grabbing Perrotta by the shirt.

As good a player as Totti is, and he's very good, he's a dirty cheat - diving, playacting and kicking opponents. He hasn't picked up 13 red cards by accident.

Attendance : 21,323
Red Card : Jimenez 88 (Parma)
Assists : De Rossi, Totti, Biabiany

MILAN 1 (Ronaldinho 78 Pen)
FIORENTINA 0

At full time Leonardo gave Adriano 'The Liar' Galliani a goodbye hug. It's claimed Berlusconi said he is negotiating with another COACH which seems to rule out Tassotti and Galli and suggests a shift in policy. Given Barca's presidential elections and Maldini's friendship with Guardiola is he a possibility?

Attendance : 44,000
Red Card : Ambrosini 87 (Milan)
Assists : Borriello (won pen)
