BOLOGNA 0
MILAN 3 (Boateng 9, Robinho 35, Ibrahimovic 60)

Boateng scored for the second successive week and it was a stunning goal. Ibrahimovic whipped in a peach of cross, Boateng jumped in the air and connected with a spectacular right foot volley. The duo combined for Milan's second. Boateng backheeled Ibrahimovic's pass through to Robinho and he raced cleared to score his sixth Milan goal. After a dreadful start he's blossomed since Pato's injury and links-up better with Ibrahimovic. With Milan in complete control Abbiati got over excited and dribbled the ball out of his box, lost control and chopped down Meggiorini as he shot. Should have been a red card. Ibrahimovic spun onto a brilliant Pirlo pass and held off Britos to score Milan's third. The ref tried to make amends for Abbiati's foul by giving Bologna a soft penalty but the goalkeeper made a brilliant one handed save from Di Vaio.

Pirlo's contract is up at the end of the season and so far Milan have shown little interest in renewing it. He's on a massive wage and my guess is that Milan will use the money they save and get from selling Borriello to Roma to buy Boateng's contract from Genoa. He will cost in the region of ?10-12 million and he's worth every ?, he's been one of the standout midfielders in the league, regardless of whether he plays as a DM or behind the strikers.

CAGLIARI 3 (Nene 11, Nene 27, Nene 71)
CATANIA 0

Matri headed a pass from who else but the brilliant trequartista Cossu against the crossbar and Nene annihilated the rebound with a stupendous volley which flashed past Andujar at his near post before ending up into the opposite corner of the net. Terrific strike. The Brazilian headed in a second after some great approach play down the left. Martinho was shown a red for an EPL style studs up kick at Perico's knee. Nene completed his hat-trick from a Lazzari corner. Morimoto jumped into Ariaudo, who was wearing a mask to protect his nose, with an elbow to the face. Ariaudo kicked out at the striker as he lay on the turf and Morimoto kicked back. I'm assuming the ref sent him off for the first challenge.

LECCE 3 (Ofere 16, Piatti 49, Piatti 69)
CHIEVO 2 (Bogliacino 55 fk, Mandelli 94)

Ofere, who broke his Serie A duck last week, opened the scoring with a strong run from the halfway line. He held off a challenge before firing low into the bottom right corner. Piatti, not to be confused with Almeria midfielder Pablo Piatti, doubled Lecce's lead when his miss-hit volley smacked off the turf and in off the underside of Sorrentino's crossbar. The ever excitable Italian commentators claimed it was 'grandisimo goal'. That wasn't but the next goal was - Bogliacino with a left footed free kick which curled up and over the wall before dropping inside the right post. Piatti nudged Mandelli off the ball, dribbled past Andreolli and from the edge of the box fired low into the bottom left corner. Rosati spilled a free kick and Mandelli tapped in the rebound, too little, too late. Lecce won more comfortably than the scoreline and late Chievo goal suggests.

BARI 0

Attendance : 25,000

JUVENTUS 2 (Chiellini 2, Krasic 94)
LAZIO 1 (Zarate 14)

Aquilani swung in a second minute corner and Chiellini headed past a static defence. Lazio also scored from a corner. Storari ran out to punch the ball, missed, crashed into Lazio players, Hernanes fired in the ball and Zarate turned in his deflected shot. Muslera almost into a post in saving a Del Piero free kick and shook loose his left arm. How much of a part that had in Krasic's winner is anyone's guess. He gave the ball away with a free kick slammed straight into the centre circle, Sissoko and Melo crowded out Floccari, Sissoko hit Krasic with a great crossfield pass, Krasic checked inside Biava and from a right angle lobbed Muslera, who stuck out his left hand only to parry the ball into his own net.

Attendance : 20,098
Assists : Aquilani (ck), n/a, Sissoko

11 December 2010

PALERMO 3 (Pinilla 51, Miccoli 61, Zaccardo 89 og)
PARMA 1 (Lucarelli 7)

Lucarelli headed in a seventh minute corner. Keeping this attack at bay would take some doing and so it proved. Pinilla scored within minutes of replacing Pastore, tapping into an empty net after Nocerino had a shot charged down then turned the rebound onto his better placed team-mate. Pinilla headed down a longball and Miccoli's sweetly struck half volley flew inside the bottom corner. To their credit Palermo rampaged forward in search of a third and got it late on when Zaccardo headed an Ilicic cross past Mirante.

Attendance : 22,817
Assists : Giovinco, Nocerino, Pinilla, n/a

UDINESE 2 (Armero 63, Di Natale 80)
FIORENTINA 1 (Santana 31)

Colombian full back Armero scored in his first Serie A goal with a spectacular effort from 30 yards which absolutely flew into the top right corner. Denis combined brilliantly with his captain in the box, he turned onto a deflected pass and back heeled the ball across for the Italy striker who applied a typically clinical finish.
