JUVENTUS 1 (Legrottaglie 60)
PARMA 4 (Giovinco 41, Giovinco 48, Crespo 51 Pen, Palladino 92)
An innocuous incident dealt Juve's title chances a fatal blow. Quagliarella lost the ball and stuck out his left leg as Paci intercepted and ran forward, their legs clashed, Quagliarella immediately fell to the turf in agony. He snapped knee ligaments and will be out for the rest of the season. Things went from bad to worse for the Bianconeri. Melo ended up on his backside after Paci challenged him for the ball then caught him with his studs as he fell, Melo reacted with a right foot straight to the face, inches away from the ref who showed him a red. Juve have given him a ?150,000 fine to go with his three match ban. Storari made a fantastic point blank save to deny Gobbi but Giovinco slammed the rebound into the roof of the net. He scored his second shortly after the break. Valiani made an overlapping run down the right and swung over a cross, Sorensen should have cleared but missed the ball completely as he undershot his diving header, Giovinco flicked the ball onto his left foot and fired past Storari. Once he again he looked absolutely mortified after scoring against his former club and the team he loves so much, although his family support Milan. Pepe struck the woodwork with another great free kick before Legrottaglie got Juve back in the match with a towering header from Aquilani's corner. Chiellini stuck out a leg as Crespo cut in from the left of the penalty and in the classic Argentinean tradition he dived with arms outstretched to win the penalty. Palladino, another Juve reject who joined Parma after a typically complicated multiple player transfer just days earlier, completed the rout from close range after Storari had saved his initial effort.

BOLOGNA 1 (Di Vaio 5)
FIORENTINA 1 (Santana 67)
Italy U21 international Federico Casarini beat Marchionni with a drop of the shoulder before curling a superb right foot cross into the box which Di Vaio met with a great flick header. Super goal. Babacar, who was more of a threat than Gilardino, a player lost without Jovetic, forced another save from Viviano, this time however the 'keeper couldn't punch the ball out far enough for a corner, Babacar rolled it back to Cerci as he was about to pull the trigger he was closed down so played the ball square to the better positioned Santana, 1-1.
Attendance : 15,926
Assists : Casarini, Cerci
BRESCIA 1 (Eder 50)
CESENA 2 (Jimenez 33, Ceccarelli 41)
In trying to clear a cross Zebina passed to Jimenez who nutmegged the 'keeper to score. Cesena's second was a carbon copy, once again Zebina was at fault and Ceccarelli blasted a half volley into the roof of the net. Filippini (why is he still playing?) headed on a longball, a defender left it and Eder ran through to score his first Serie A goal.

PALERMO 3 (Miccoli 37, Migliaccio 49, Maccarone 79)
SAMPDORIA 0
Miccoli played a one-two with Pastore on the edge of the box and as he spun onto the Argentinean's return pass Sampdoria hands went up for offside and the ball went into the back of the net. Miccoli played a glorious pass with the outside of his right foot inside a defender to the ever willing Balzaretti and his typically excellent cross was met with a spectacular diving header. Maccarone, who had been linked to Sampdoria in the summer, blasted in Palermo's third from an Ilicic pass.
Attendance : 26,020
Assists : Pastore, Balzaretti, Ilicic
ROMA 4 (Borriello 5, Borriello 47, Vucinic 86, Vucinic 94)
CATANIA 2 (Silvestre 29, Maxi Lopez 38)
Andujar made a fine save down to his left from a fizzing De Rossi drive and Borriello scuffed the rebound into the net. Silvestre headed in the equaliser from a Llama corner. Lopez raced clear of the Roma's centre backs who were playing Ranieri's trademark high offside trap, rounded Julio Sergio and curled the ball into the far corner. Roma's equaliser was bullshit. Riise crossed the ball from behind the goal-line and Borriello headed into an empty net. Vucinic was having his shirt aggressively pulled as he attacked a deflected shot but instead of going down, which would have meant Totti taking the penalty and grabbing the glory, he blasted the ball past Andujar. Roma twice tore open Catania on the break. Totti wasted the first opportunity, dragging his shot wide of the left post after being setup by Vucinic. He returned the favour minutes later and the Montenegrin made no such mistake.
We won't see a high offside trap at Roma next season, when Ancelotti replaces Ranieri.
Attendance : 30,000

UDINESE 2 (Sanchez 14, Di Natale 25)
CHIEVO 0
Pinzi turned onto an overhead clearance out of defence and launched a hit and hope ball into the Chievo box, Sanchez killed it with an excellent first touch then shot across goal into the bottom right corner. Udinese punished another poor clearance to double their advantage. Inler controlled a ball on his chest before giving a reverse pass to Di Natale and from the left hand edge of the penalty area he curled a shot inside the right post though at a height the goalkeeper should have saved.
Attendance : 14,000
Red Card : Pinzi 34 (Udinese)
Assists : Pinzi, Inler
INTER 3 (Motta 3, Cambiasso 37, Motta 55)
NAPOLI 1 (Pazienza 25)
Motta opened Leonardo's tenure with a fantastic goal. Pandev played a crossfield pass to Motta who immediately played a back heal to Stankovic, Stankovic volleyed the ball forward and Motta caught it on the drop with a left foot volley into the bottom right corner. Pazienza ran across goal to send Lavezzi's corner past Castelazzi. Cambiasso restored Inter's lead from Maicon's inswinging cross. Motta headed in his second goal from a Pandev corner.
Attendance : 60,515
Assists : Stankovic, Lavezzi (ck), Maicon, Pandev (ck)
