NAPOLI 2 (Cavani 30, Cannavaro 86)
BARI 2 (Barreto 12, Castillo 88)

Midget Barreto stood on the goal-line as a corner came into the box and beat the gutless De Sanctis from close range. Terrible, cowardly goalkeeping. Minutes before Cavani equalised he hammered a shot against the base of the left post. Back to the equaliser, Cavani steered a shot into the corner from Hamsik's lay-off. Maggio missed from six yards, falling over Lavezzi's driven cross but Cannavaro snared the rebound. Eighty seconds later Bari were level. Kutuzov took a kick in the ribs from the awful Zuniga as he attempted a one-two with Almiron, the ball broke for Alvarez who cut it back to Almiron, he feigned to shoot, stepped past Cannavaro and centred for the unmarked Castillo to tap-in at the back post. Tsk. Tsk.

Attendance : 25,000
Assists : Parisi (ck), Hamsik, Maggio, Almiron

BRESCIA 3 (Dallamano 3, Eder 28, Caracciolo 43 Pen)
PALERMO 2 (Pastore 22, Balzaretti 83)

Dallamano got the faintest of touches to a deflected shot to give Brescia an early lead. Kasami headed down Cassani's cross and Pastore slammed a left foot volley into the roof of the net. Six minutes later Diamanti found fat faced Eder in acres of space in the box and last season's Serie B top scorer took a touch to control the ball before shooting past Sirigu. Pastore almost equalised again with another cracking shot but this time the woodwork came to Sereni's rescue. Caracciolo dived over Munoz's legs to steal the penalty. Baiocco headed a Pastore cross into Balzaretti's path and he shot past Sereni'. Sereni, who had an unbelievable game, denied Pastore a point at the death with another superb save.

GENOA 1 (Destro 6)
CHIEVO 3 (Mosca 45, Marcolini 56, Pellissier 74)

Mattia Destro, the star of Inter and Italy youth teams, scored on his pro debut. The 19 year old striker leapt into the air and pulled down Palacio's cross with a sensational first touch then hammered a shot into the bottom left corner. Genoa would have been out of sight but for the eternally hopeless Sculli. Mosca equalised on the stroke of half time with a deflected shot. Luciano nutmegged Rossi on the left, Marcolini got above his marker and met the passport cheat's cross with a ferocious header. The goal knocked the stuffing out of the home side and despite two excellent saves from their brilliant Portuguese goalkeeper they conceded a third when Pellisier toe poked Bentivoglio's through pass wide of Eduardo.

Attendance : 22,000

JUVENTUS 3 (Marchisio 43, Pepe 50, Quagliarella 67)
SAMPDORIA 3 (Pozzi 36, Cassano 64, Pozzi 73)

Pozzi, deputising for the injured Pazzini, opened the scoring with a wonderful goal. Cassano trapped a booming, crossfield pass on his chest, Koman stepped over his centre and Pozzi tapped into the bottom left corner. Juve's first goal was just as good. Krasic headed down a deflected cross and Marchisio leapt in the air and almost tore a hole in the net with a blistering volley. Krasic whipped in an un-defendable cross from the right, Curci made an extraordinary save to prevent Gastaldello from scoring an own goal but the much maligned Pepe scrambled the rebound over the line. Storari fumbled a tame Cassano shot to literally hand Samp the equaliser. They were only level for three minutes. Quagliarella put Juve back in front when he tapped in a rebound after a Pepe shot came back off a post. Semioli made way for Marilungo a minute later and the 21 year old striker curled in a superb cross from the left, between three Juve defenders, and Pozzi emphatically headed past Storari.

BOLOGNA 1 (Mudingayi 78)

Mauri slid in Rocchi's center at the back post and made the second with a brilliant first time crossfield pass out to Rocchi, he let the ball bounce once then lobbed over Viviano from close range. Brilliant goal. Former Lazio midfielder Mudingayi got hold of a slack clearance on the edge and struck a superb curling shot into the right corner. His first ever Serie A goal after six years in Italy. Kozak fell under a legit challenge in the box, the ref pointed to the spot, Kozak looked at him, held his face and rolled around, WANKER. Hernanes scored his first Serie A goal from the spot.

CAGLIARI 5 (Conti 8, Matri 23 Pen, Acquafresca 37, Matri 46, Lazzari 88)
ROMA 1 (De Rossi 18)

Roma failed to clear a corner, Contini turned onto Cossu's cross and hammered a shot past a helpless Julio Sergio. De Rossi equalised from a Totti corner but three minutes later Roma's most expensive signing of the season, the awful Burdisso, jumped into Conti with an insane two footed lunge in the box, red card, penalty. Matri converted and Acquafresca made it 3-1 with a superb flick header. Matri, who should get an Italy call-up sometime this season, scored the third headed goal of the match and Cossu completed a hat-trick of assists with the final pass of a counter attack to leave Lazzari with a simple tap-in.

Attendance : 15,000
Red Card : Burdisso 21 (Roma)
Assists : Cossu, Totti (ck), Conti (won pen), Biondini, Cossu (fk), Cossu

CESENA 2 (Bogdani 31, Giaccherini 44)
MILAN 0

Despite the visitors dominance two well taken goals on the counter saw Cesena fell mighty Milan. Ibrahimovic lost possession when attempting a through pass, Appiah ran into the Milan half and passed to Giaccherini, he played a one-two with Colucci, spread the play out wide to Ceccarelli, he controlled the ball on his chest, volleyed a centre and Bogdani got in front of Papastathopoulos to beat Abbiati with a superb flick header. Appiah headed clear after Ronaldinho had a shot charged down, Bogdani turned Papastathopoulos and sent Giaccherini clear of the only other Milan player in his own half, Thiago Silva, and his expertly placed shot bounced in off the right post. Ibrahimovic compounded a miserable individual display by blasting a penalty against the upright.

None of Milan's big hitters shone, Ronaldinho was every bit as bad as Ibrahimovic though Pato was unlucky to have two valid goals disallowed.

Attendance : 24,000
Assists : Ceccarelli, Appiah
