FIORENTINA 2 (Mutu 21, Gamberini 34)
ROMA 2 (Totti 27, Totti 52)

Riise dived in to tackle Mutu as he turned onto a Vargas pass and missed, Mutu sold Juan a dummy, took the ball onto his left foot then fired past the exposed Doni. Riise went over in the Fiorentina box to win a dubious penalty which Totti emphatically despatched to score his 200th Seriea A goal. An amazing achievement. Gamberini shot Fiorentina back into the lead after Roma failed to clear a corner. Luckless Fiorentina hit the woodwork twice before Totti equalised. Riise swung in cross from the left, Totti pulled the ball down then lashed it past Boruc. Fine finish.

BARI 1 (Ghezzal 41 Pen)
CHIEVO 2 (Pellissier 38, Moscardelli 49)

Bari made all the early running but the visitors took the lead. Pellissier was tackled 25 yards from goal, the ball ran for Fernandes who was also tackled, Codrea stood waiting for Rossi, who was nowhere near the ball, to come and clear, Pellissier took advantage of the confusion and ran through to score. Ghezzal converted a soft penalty before Codrea pissed away a point with another awful mistake. Almiron, standing near the penalty box, gave him a pass, he failed to control it, Moscardelli shrugged off his challenge, dribbled past Gilk and chipped the ball wide of Gillet.

BOLOGNA 1 (Di Vaio 28)
GENOA 1 (Dainelli 43)

Genoa dominated the opening 28 minutes but they don't have Di Vaio. He used his left arm to control a crossfield pass, pushed away Criscito then slammed a half volley into the bottom left corner amid appeals for handball. Viviano made a stunning point blank save from a Dainelli header but was helpless as he followed up on the rebound.

With 40 points (less the 3 point deduction for financial irregularities) Bologna are safe and mad man Malesani's reputation restored.

JUVENTUS 2 (Krasic 23, Del Piero 68)
BRESCIA 1 (Eder 42)

Matri flicked on a loose ball to Krasic, the Serb took a couple of steps forward before thumping a volley inside the right post, fantastic goal. Another Buffon mistake handed Brescia the equaliser. He was miles off his line as Vass swung a cross into the box and midget Eder headed past him. Del Piero scored a superb winning goal. Turning on a pass on the centre circle he ran forward, dribbled inside a defender then opened up his body and whipped the ball past Arcari. Mareco was sent off for body checking Matri. Juve should have scored four but Del Neri will be encouraged by this performance.

UDINESE 2 (Inler 22, Di Natale 74 Pen)
CATANIA 0

Udinese first goal came from an unlikely source and it was a tremendous strike, Spoli headed out a deflected cross and Inler ran forward and connected with a stunning left foot volley which bounced into the bottom corner. Marchesco shoved over Sanchez to concede the penalty.

NAPOLI 2 (Cavani 49 Pen, Cavani 61)
CAGLIARI 1 (Acquafresca 56)

Lavezzi took a delayed dive after a defender pulled his arm as he ran into the box. Hamsik smashed a Lavezzi centre against Conti and Agazzi made a superb save to deny Yebda on the rebound. Acquafresca turned the painfully slow Cannavaro to chase down his own flick on and nutmeg De Sanctis in the Napoli goal. Five minutes later Hamsik juggled a cross off his chest before volleying a pass over the Cagliari defence and as Agazzi came off his line Cavani dropped a lob over his head and into the net. Another brilliant goal from Serie A's most complete striker.
