Attendance : 29,539

BARI 0
UDINESE 2 (Sanchez 16, Isla 60)

Chilean winger Sanchez picked up the ball 30 yards from goal, dribbled past two players then blasted into the top left corner from 25 yards. Brilliant goal. Handanovic made a superb one handed save to deny Barreto from the penalty spot and Almiron blazed the rebound over the bar. Sanchez ran at the Bari defence before poking a ball between two defenders to Chilean team-mate Isla who crashed a first time shot in off the underside of the crossbar.

Udinese should have cashed in on Sanchez after the World Cup as he's so inconsistent and the club are going nowhere his profile will never be higher than during the summer. Nice to see boring, defensive Bari rock bottom of Serie A.

Attendance : 16,000
Assist : Asamoah, Sanchez

NAPOLI 1 (Lavezzi 76)

Attendance : 5,000
Assist : Hamsik

CAGLIARI 2 (Nene 51, Nainggolan 78)
BOLOGNA 0

Nene pulled away from his markers to volley a typically superb Cossu delivery past Viviano. Nainggolan sort of became the first Indonesian player (his father is Indonesian and his mother Belgian) to score in Serie A when he caught a poor clearance on the drop, volleying into the bottom left corner.

Attendance : 10,000
Assists : Cossu, n/a

CESENA 0
SAMPDORIA 1 (Pazzini 92)

Cesena have been well and truly figured out. Ficcadenti better change his approach because his catenaccio isn't working anymore.

30 October 2010

ROMA 2 (Burdisso 62, Vucinic 76)
LECCE 0

There were more chances in this game than all but one of the other games from the weekend combined. Both teams hit the woodwork, Roma twice. Burdisso followed up an excellent first half goal-line clearance with a superb header from Riise's inswinging cross. Juan started a counter attack with a ball out of defence, Totti released Vucinic down the left and he raced clear of the Lecce defence to make it 2-0. In the build up to the goal Totti ran over to Olivera who raised his arm to Totti's face, Totti shoved him and the ref, who was mere yards away, showed both players red cards. Totti had to be restrained as he headed down the tunnel.

Totti now has more red cards (15) than Zidane and Materazzi. He's a God in Rome and seems to feel he can do as he pleases. They should hit him with a lengthy ban. A dreadful example to professional footballers everywhere.

Attendance : 28,000
Red Cards : Totti 77 (Roma), Olivera 77 (Lecce)
Assists : Riise, Totti

MILAN 1 (Ibrahimovic 82)
JUVENTUS 2 (Quagliarella 24, Del Piero 65)

In an opening half dominated by the home side Ibrahimovic curled a first time shot against the crossbar and wasted a Pato cutback with a tame finish that nonetheless forced a save from ex-Milan goalkeeper 'George' Storari. De Ceglie curled in a brilliant cross from the left and Quagliarella got above Antonini to head past Abbiati. Ibrahimovic should have equalised in first half injury time but having controlled a Pirlo crossfield pass he blazed over as Pepe yanked away at his shirt. Should have been a penalty.

The chances continued to fall to Ibrahimovic in the second half, Robinho got in the way of a goalbound shot before Juve suckered Milan on the break. Antonini (again) failed to deal with a highball upto Sissoko, he made an excellent recovery tackle to thwart the midfielder as he shot but Sissoko quickly got to his feet, shielded the ball and touched it back for Del Piero to score his 179th league goal for Juve, a new record. Ibrahimovic headed in an Antonini cross but Juve just about held on to steal a victory.

Attendance : 76,768
Assists : De Ceglie, Sissoko, Antonini
