Panathinaikos vs Barcelona

Neither team will have a better chance of making the semi-finals. Barca need
to stop Michaelsen and the Cypriot Christian Vieri - Michalis Konstantinou, two
of the outstanding players in this years competition. The Spaniards qualified
from a very difficult but has badly missed the presence of defender Patrick
Andersson and have become too dependant on Kluivert.  If Panathinaikos win
in Greece I feel they are capable of getting a draw in the Nou Camp.

Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid

Bayern started the defence of their European Cup in spectacular fashion before a
series of injuries, most notably to Salihamidzic, left them shooting blanks.
Real Madrid of course have had no problems scoring or in fact conceding but they
also have yet to face any quality opposition. Bayern have a superior record
against Real in recent seasons and as long as Jeremies controls the midfield
Bayern should see off the so called favourites.

Deportivo vs Man United

Man United will be out for revenge following their humiliating defeats against
Depor during the first group stages. Barthez, who was largely responsible for
the embarrassing loss against Depor at Old Trafford, has cut out the mistakes
but the rest of the Man United defence remain a liability. Beckham and Giggs
are back to their very best while Tristan and Valeron have been the
outstanding players for treble chasing Deportivo. Should be the tie of the round
but Depor's defence will see them through.

Liverpool vs Leverkusen

The Germans, who completed a double over Deportivo as well as defeating
Juventus and Barcelona shouldn't be underestimated. Leverkusen's attack is
very lightweight but Hyppia and co need to watch Leverkusen's World Class
midfield due of Ballack and Ze Roberto. Liverpool have been very wasteful in
front of goal in previous rounds but Heskey seems to have hit form even though
Owen has struggled to score in recent weeks. Liverpool's defence will be too
strong.
