EMPOLI 3 (Maccarone 4, Tonelli 34, Pucciarelli 64)
PALERMO 0

Maccarone met Rui's centre with a back heel as he ran cross his marker. Nice goal. Tonelli made it 2-0 with a bullet header. A sensational first touch allowed Pucciarelli to pull down a longball and add the third.

Given Zamparini's itchy trigger finger, Giuseppe Iachini could be sacked at any time.

Attendance : 7,504
Assists : Rui, Valdifiori, Valdifiori

LAZIO 3 (Mauri 9, Djordjevic 25, Candreva 35)
SASSUOLO 2 (Berardi 26, Berardi 50 Pen)

Mauri fired Lazio into the lead from the edge of the box and Djordjevic made it four goals in two games when he headed in Candreva's cross. Berardi lost his marker to get Sassuolo back into the match but Candreva looked to have made the points safe 10 minutes later when he tapped in a rebound. Cana was shown a second yellow for fouling Berardi for the penalty. Peluso walked for a foul on Candreva.

Zaza has tanked since the press shot him to the moon after his international debut games, in much the same way as Sterling has tanked since being linked to Real Madrid.

Attendance : 27,000
Red Cards : Cana 49 (Lazio), Peluso 61 (Sassuolo)
Assists : Onazi, Candreva, Sansone, n/a, Berardi (won pen)

PARMA 1 (Coda 67)
GENOA 2 (Perotti 54, Matri 94)

Parma's misery continued. Perotti beat Mirante at his near post with a shot he should have saved. Roncaglia was sent off for handball. Coda bounced Gobbi's cross in off his chest for the equaliser but despite their man advantage Parma blew it when Matri scored the winner on a counter.

Attendance : 12,441
Red Card : Roncaglia 56 (Genoa)
Assists : Bertolacci, Gobbi, Rincon

SAMPDORIA 1 (Gabbiadini 35)

UDINESE 1 (Fernandes 63)
CESENA 1 (Cascione 92)

Fernandes scored a brilliant goal, turning 25 inside out before sweeping a shot into the right corner. Rodriguez dived to win the penalty and steal a point.

Attendance : 15,000
Assists : Di Natale, Rodriguez (won pen)

JUVENTUS 3 (Tevez 28 Pen, Tevez 49 Pen, Bonucci 86)
ROMA 2 (Totti 32 Pen, Iturbe 44)

Maicon conceded the first penalty for handball. He jumped with his arm to block the ball but may have been outside the penalty area when he made contact. The penalty wasn't really the issue, the issue was the ref didn't give a penalty initially and only changed his mind after the Juve players surrounded him. Lichtsteiner sacked Totti to concede Roma's penalty. Gervinho humiliated Caceres as he cut in from the left then played a disguised pass, the thirteenth of a fine move, inside him for Iturbe to give Roma the lead. Pjanic kicked away at Pogba's right left as he cut in from the left for Juve's second penalty and this was certainly (just) outside the box. Yanga-Mbiwa headed out a cross and Bonucci caught the ball on the drop with a stunning right foot volley. Manolas shoved Morata after he went in two footed, they both got in each other's face and the ref showed them a red card each.

Lots of pissing and moaning from Roma as you can imagine but Roma didn't help themselves. Both penalties were as the result of moronic defending. Maicon should not start for Roma. He's terrible. That's two penalties in big games he's conceded in a week (the first against Man City). The ref did nothing for the image of Italian football. Being talked into giving a penalty by Juve players was a disgraceful piece of officiating and I don't think he'll get another big game for a while.

Attendance : 41,200
Red Cards : Morata 89 (Juventus), Manolas 89 (Roma)
Assists : n/a, Totti (won pen), Gervinho, Pogba (won pen), n/a

FIORENTINA 3 (Babacar 7, Cuadrado 19, Tomovic 76)
INTER 0

Babacar turned onto a pass and from the edge of the box struck an outrageous shot which swerved wickedly beyond Handanovic. Cuadrado dropped a shoulder, blitzed past two players then let rip with a shot which curled into the bottom right corner. Tomovic ran through two Inter defenders as he cut in from the right and beat Handanovic at his near post.

Attendance : 34,279
Assists : Tomovic, Babacar, Kurtic

NAPOLI 2 (Insigne 55, Callejon 72)
TORINO 1 (Quagliarella 14)

Napoli's joke of a defence failed their offside trap as Quagliarella bounced a cross off his chest before volleying past Rafael. Great goal. Napoli missed five un-missable chances before Insigne headed in Zuniga's cross. Callejon misshit a shot which bounced up off the turf and over Gillet. Shame.

Attendance : 20,100
Red Card : El Kaddouri 95 (Torino)
Assists : Maksimovic, Zuniga, Insigne

4 October 2014

CAGLIARI 0

Attendance : 17,813
Assist : Hallfredsson

MILAN 2 (Muntari 55, Honda 78 fk)
CHIEVO 0

Muntari caught a headed clearance with a thunderous volley which bounced into the ground before swinging past Bardi. Honda's stunning left footed free kick capped another brilliant performance.

Torres was of course rubbish.

Attendance : 42,000
Assists : n/a, El Shaarawy (won fk)
