A series of errors lead to Bremen taking a shock lead. Cordoba hit a back pass to Maicon, who was being pressured by Vranjes, Maicon lost possession, Vranjes passed to Ozil, Cesar parried a shot he would normally take and Pizarro bagged the rebound. Cesar's poor goalkick lead to a Bremen counter attack, Ozil destroyed Cordoba for pace down the left and Rosenborg met his centre to score though once again it was a shot Cesar would normally save. Ibrahimovic turned onto a pass from Maxwell before thumping a brilliant right foot drive in off a post.
Mourinho has really bollocked this one up. Inter's potential last 16 opponents include Barcelona and Liverpool.

Ketsbaia's men broke the deadlock from a corner. Savio overhit a cross to the back post and unmarked Nikolaou's volley whistled past Vander at his near post. With Bremen chasing the game Famagusta ripped them open on the break, Laban started the counter attack with a great tackle in his own half then spread the play wide to Taher, his centre drew a point blank save from Frousos and Savio scored on the rebound. Tosic lost possession in his own penalty area and Hunt threw himself over the defenders idiotic recovery tackle to win a penalty. Choker Diego converted. Famagusta shat themselves and conceded an inevitable equaliser, Hugo Almeida rifling in from close range after Rosenborg misdirected a header. There was still time for Famagusta's Panagi to miss an absolute sitter at the death.

Balotelli tapped in a rebound to give Inter the lead. Burdisso attempted a back pass as Julio Cesar rushed off his line, he overshot and Burdisso theatrically dropped to his knees as Bardon tapped his header into an empty net. Materazzi pushed over a defender and headed Balotelli's corner at Begaj who fumbled the ball into his own net.
Famagusta's second goal also arrived from a corner. Dobrasinovic headed Taher's cross towards goal, Cambiasso left post duty to make a challenge and headed the ball against Panagi and it bounced inside the post he was supposed to be guarding. Inter's charitable defending continued, Burdisso headed a cross against Frousos and he got the break of the bounce before firing past Julio Cesar. Cesar kept Inter in the match with two excellent saves before Cruz snatched a point with a great header from a Balotelli free kick.

Mantzios received possession on the edge of the box, as he was being shadowed by Pasanen but instead of making a tackle, Pasanen ran past him, like a fire engine going in the wrong way (TM Geoffrey Green) leaving the striker with space to work an opening and score. Karagounis called for a throw in, he let the ball bounce twice before hitting an incredible right foot half volley which dipped and swerved wickedly past Wiese. Tziolis ran onto a deflected cross to slam in a third, embarrassing Wiese at his near post.
I realise they are unpopular in Germany but one advantage of Hoffenheim playing in the Champions League next season, assuming they finish in the top three in the Bundesliga, is we will be sparred most pathetic performances from Bremen.

Mertesacker jumped for a free kick, controlled the ball with his arm (didn't look intentional) then hooked a volley past Tzorvas. The too gentle giant was beaten to a cross by Mantzios, who at 6ft 3in is almost as imposing, his header dropping beyond Vander in the Bremen goal. Simao flicked on a corner, Karagounis bravely headed the ball down while taking a boot to the face and Ozil, standing just short of the goal-line, acrobatically backheeled the ball off the line while the Greeks appealed Mantzios jumped above Pasanen and sent a header looping over a packed centre circle and into the bottom corner. Brilliant. The Pana bench were celebrating as Mantzios was substituted for defender Rukavina. Nineteen seconds later Almeida wiped the collective smiles off their faces when he headed in the equaliser, wing back Boenisch with the cross.

Savio's throw-in was so tempted Sarriegi couldn't resist putting it in his own net. Dobrasinovic doubled the Cypriots lead with a towering header. Leiwakabessy punched out a cross to concede a penalty converted by the bearded Salpingidis. Taher made the points safe when he headed in a corner, Pimentel with another tremendous cross.

Adriano's attempted pass to Maicon took a deflection off two Bremen players falling perfectly for the Brazilian fullback and he lobbed over the advancing Wiese who really should have stayed on his line. Bayern and Chelsea reject Pizarro made up for a disgraceful first half miss with the equaliser, taking advantage of a lapse in concentration by Maicon to volley in Ozil's brilliant cross and he should have won the match late on but missed another open goal.
Inter haven't looked impressive at all under Mourinho.

Maicon hit a longball out of defence to Ibrahimovic, he muscled his way past his marker before turning another two defenders inside the box and laying off for Mancini to score his first Inter goal. Adriano added a late second on the break.
