JUVENTUS 1 (Trezeguet 19)
BAYERN MUNICH 4 (Butt 30 Pen, Olic 52, Gomez 83, Tymoschuk 92)

Trezeguet volleyed Juve into the lead from a Marchisio cross, against the run of play. Olic dived to win the game tying penalty. No hint of bias from Sky's colour commentator who claimed it was "a definite penalty" idiot. Bayern goalkeeper Butt converted which was incredibly this THIRD GOAL against Juventus. Most strikers probably haven't scored three goals against Juve in Europe. Juve failed to clear their lines from a corner, Buffon parried Van Buyten's header and Olic tapped in the rebound. Trezeguet missed a glorious chance to equalise and Juve paid the price minutes later when the hulking Van Buyten again proved impossible to mark on a cross and Gomez put away the rebound. Muller touched back a Robben centre for Tymoschuk to blast in a fourth.

Juve are an embarrassment to Italian football, nothing new there.

BORDEAUX 2 (Fernando 54, Chamakh 94)
JUVENTUS 0

Set piece masters Bordeaux, who had already qualified and were without Gourcuff, gave Juve a bloody nose with a potentially damaging defeat. Menegazzo (who now goes by his forename), who played for Siena and Catania, headed in the first from a Plasil free kick. In injury time Chamakh jumped to head in Wendel's corner, despite being fouled by Caceres.

Juve have to avoid defeat against Bayern to go through. It's a good job they don't have to win, going forward they are absolutely dire.

Assists : Plasil (fk), Wendel (ck)

21 October 2009

BORDEAUX 2 (Ciani 27, Planus 40)
BAYERN MUNICH 1 (Ciani 6 og)

Ciani made amends for giving Bayern the lead with an outrageous mid-air back heel volley from Wendel's corner. Muller was sent off for chopping down Chalme from behind. Planus bundled in a free kick after more sloppy defending from the Germans. Butt was lucky not see red for a ridiculous foul on Chamakh in the Bayern penalty area. He was subsequently booked then saved Gourcuff's awful penalty. Van Buyten sacked Chamakh to concede another penalty which Butt also saved, this time from Jussie.

15 September 2009

JUVENTUS 1 (Iaquinta 63)
BORDEAUX 1 (Plasil 75)

Juve played Bordeaux off the park but had to settle for a point thanks largely to poor finishing with Iaquinta the chief culprit, even if he did eventually score. Plasil punished terrible marking to equalise from a free kick.

Attendance : 30,000
Assists : Cannavaro, Fernando

MACCABI HAIFA 0
BAYERN MUNICH 3 (Van Buyten 64, Muller 85, Muller 88)

Van Buyten smashed home a loose ball inside a packed penalty area. Muller made it 2-0 with a deflected shot from the edge of the penalty area and ran across a static and probably demoralised Maccabi defence to convert Gomez' centre for the third.
