STUTTGART 3 (Marica 5, Trasch 8, Pogrebnyak 11)
UNIREA URZIENI 1 (Semedo 46)

Khedira's teasing cross that was begging to be hit and Marica duly obliged. Gebhart sprung a counter attack deep from his own half, he released Trasch and the defenders shot took a deflection off a gonorrhoea player, wrong footing Arlauskis. Pogrebnyak turned onto a Khedira centre and dribbled away from two players before nutmegging Arlauskis. Brilliant goal. Midget Boka kicked the ball against his own trailing leg when trying to clear and Semedo ran through to score what proved to be a consolation goal.

20 October 2009

RANGERS 1 (Vilana 2 og)
UNIREA URZICENI 4 (Bilasco 32, Lafferty 49 og, McCulloch 59, og, McCulloch 65 og)

Mendes tried his luck from the edge of the box and his shot took a wild bounce off Vilana, looping over Tudor in the Unirea goal. Rangers' pathetic offside trap gift wrapped the equaliser to Bilsaco. Fernandes handled in the box to concede a penalty but Davis' terrible spot kick was saved by Tudor. Rangers' charity continued with two own goals. Lafferty was somewhat unlucky when a shot from a short corner bounced off his heels but McCulloch had no such excuse for heading Balan's free kick into his own net. Apostol backheeled a free kick to Brandan, McCulloch tried to jump out of the way but the ball clipped off his heels and wrong footed McGregor. Four own goals has to be some sort of record.

SEVILLA 4 (Konko 50, Adriano 64, Luis Fabiano 72, Kanoute 74)

The Rangers defence stood like statues watching Sevilla pass the ball in midfield, Luis Fabiano centred from the left, two defenders got sucked in by Kanoute leaving Adriano free to pick his spot inside McGregor's left post. Luis Fabiano became the third Sevilla player to score from a cross and returned the favour to goal-maker Kanoute with a centre on the break. Ranger's Spanish striker Nacho Novo cut in from the left flank and beat Palop with a fantastic 30 yard drive.
