past young 'keeper Taylor. The outstanding Vorobey enhancing his glowing
reputation with a superb free kick and then set up Byelik for the third.

Parlous cracked a superb shot into the net and minutes later Lauren effectively
killed the tie with a precise first time strike. Dixon scored from a rebound. Labant
converted a penalty given away by fat boy Seamen for a foul on Kincl. Kanu
added a fourth thanks to great work by Henry and an over indulgent dummy.
Rosicky picked the ball up on the left wing, destroyed three defenders and shot
inside the post.

Lazio completed dominated the first half but it was Shaktar who took the
lead through Vorobey. He brilliantly controlled a superb ball from Bakharev
and hammered past Peruzzi. Lopez equalised after Nedved and Crespo helped
on a long ball. Favalli played a one-two with Lopez, put the ball through
Okoronkwo's legs and fired across goal. Veron got outrageous bend on a free
kick and unleashed Lopez with an exquisite pass as Lazio defended a corner.
Lopez completed his hat-trick in injury time.

Lazio started brightly but it took an own goal to beat Lukic, standing in for
David Seamen who was probably taking time off to make a porn movie, or
eat a pie or something. Wiltord seemed to be indulging in juggling tricks
deep in his own half but as everyone admired his skills he launched a ball to
Pires, Nesta missed it and Pires ran from the half way line before curling a
beautiful shot past Peruzzi. In the 2nd minute of injury time Dixon put the
ball into his own net following a manic goalmouth scramble but that goal was
disallowed due to dangerous play by Crespo. Claudio Lopez went AWOL.
A great game that got real ugly. Ljunberg was pressing Nesta as he tried to
shepard out a corner. Nesta dived, Ljunberg was booked for protesting.
Grimandi punched Simeone in the face. Not sure what for but if ever a player
deserved a smack for past crimes it's Simeone, you reap what you sow. Nedved
hacked Luzhny, Simeone went through, Nesta and Keown, Mihajlovic and Viera
almost came to blows. Very reminiscent of what Arsenal did to Barca in the
Nou Camp last season i.e. beat the shit out of them. It's a miracle no one
was sent off.

Bergkamp headed Kanu's cross into Ljunberg's path and the Swede swept the ball
past Marchegiani. They combined again for Arsenal's second, Bergkamp with a
fantastic through ball and Ljunberg with a crisp first time finish. Marchegiani made
a string of excellent saves to keep the score down, Lazio looked surprisingly blunt
in attack.

Rosicky ran from the half way line, played a one-two with Sionko and his shot
cannoned off Virt into the net. Vorobey picked out Zubov with a fantastic back
heel, he cut inside a defender before whipping and outrageous shot into the top
corner. Hornak headed in a corner from Labant. Jorosik headed in another corner
via a deflection off Prohaszka. A fantastic run and cross from Zubov was converted
by Abramov at the far post.
Good to see Labant back after injury, he was tremendous for Sparta in last
season's Champions League. 23 year old Zubov looks a real class act.

Inzaghi fired Nedved's pass across goal to give Lazio an overdue lead. Simeone
was credited with Lazio's second although it appeared as though he didn't get a
touch to Veron's free kick. Veron also created the third for Inzaghi.

Bakharev's free kick took a wicked deflection off Pires leaving fat, pony tailed tart
David Seamen stranded. Vorobei ran in on the blind side to sweep Atelkin's
beautiful disgusted pass into the net. Popov was harshly sent off at the end of the
first half for body checking Viera. Wiltord took a dive in the box, penalty. Henry's
spot kick was saved but Wiltord put away the rebound. Keown bundled in
Silvinho's deflected corner. Kanu drew out Virt and despite playing with four
strikers it was Keown who sent his cross into an empty net.

missed the ball and Lopez tapped in. Nedved curled in a second and laid on Lazio's
third for Inzaghi.

Silvinho received a pass from Pires on the edge of the Sparta box with his back
to goal, creamed Mynar with a Cruijff turn, skipped a tackle and then lifted the
ball into the net. Awesome, awesome, awesome goal.
It's ironic that in Brazil Silvinho was noted for his defensive qualities and offered
nothing in attack yet at Arsenal he has developed into one of the best attacking
left-backs in Europe.
