7 NOVEMBER 2000

GALATASARAY 2-2 STURM GRAZ
Ergun 30 (Pen) Yuran 64
Jardel 75 Unsal 80 (og)

Hasan won a penalty with the old throw yourself over the 'keepers legs trick,
Ergun converted. Yuran headed in the equaliser from Korsos' cross. Jardel
put the Turks back in the lead, heading in from Ergun's free kick. Hakan
Unsal gave Sturm Graz a share of the points with an own goal.

Assist : Hasan, Korsos, Ergun

RANGERS 2-2 MONACO
Miller 3 Da Costa 39
Mols 52 Simone 78

Rangers seemed to put disastrous league form behind them to take an early
lead, Miller volleying into the net off Contreras. Molls missed an open goal
from a rebound and Rangers were duly punished when Da Costa powered
Simone's corner kick past Charbonnier. De Boer headed on Ricksen's long ball
and Molls put Rangers back in front. Simone equalised with a an excellent first
time strike.

Assist : Simone, De Boer, Rodriguez

25 OCTOBER 2000

MONACO 4-2 GALATASARAY
Contreras 6 Unsal 24
Bonnal 19 Bulent 63
Simone 22
Nonda 26

Inan punched out a Marquez header, Contreras put away the rebound. Inan's
nightmare continued as he spilled what should have been routine saves from
Bonnal and Simone into his own net. Not to be outdone miserable positioning
by Porato enabled Gala to get back in the match albeit briefly. Two minutes
later Nonda brilliantly spun on Gallardo's pass and shot into the bottom
corner, this time the 'keeper wasn't to blame. Jurietti was sent off for a
love tap on Umit who in turn should have been sent off for pretending to be
crippled. Bulent headed in Ergun's free kick though Porato was once again
awful. The ref brought another cynical piece of acting by Gala and Djetou
walked.

Assists : Nonda, Giuly, Hagi, Gallardo, Ergun
Red Cards : Jurietti 60 (Monaco), Djetou 64 (Monaco)

STURM GRAZ 2-0 RANGERS
Yuran 20
Prilasnig 93

Rangers were caught out with a long ball out of defence, Yuran side-stepped
the 'keeper and Ferguson before tapping into an empty net. The ref booked
Numan for coming on while the ball was in play - after waving him on! And
gave him a second yellow when a Sturm Graz player ran into him. Ferguson
was sold another dummy in the box, this time Prilasnig turned him inside out
before scoring.

This group is still wide open.

Assists : Reinmayr, Strafner
Red Card : Numan 85 (Rangers)

17 OCTOBER 2000

RANGERS 0-0 GALATASARAY

The best chances fell to Jardel and Kanchelskis. Taffarel won Gala a point
with an awesome point blank save from McCann's header.

STURM GRAZ 2-0 MONACO
Schopp 39, 88

Schopp scored his first after Porato spilled a shot and headed in a late
second from Fleurquin's excellent cross.

Assist : Fleurquin

27 SEPTEMBER 2000

GALATASARAY 3-2 RANGERS
Bulent 51 Kanchelskis 72
Unsal 57 Van Bronckhorst 93
Jardel 70

Gala worked a short corner and Bulent volleyed in from close range. Unsal
doubled Gala's lead with an awesome shot with the outside of his foot. Jardel
scored what was for me the goal of the night, a fantastic low volley from Umit's
cross. Rangers hit back with two late goals. Kanchelskis with a header off
Popescu? and Van Bronckhorst almost tore a hole in the net with a violent
free kick.

Assists : Ergun, Hasan, Umit, Van Bronckhorst

MONACO 5-0 STURM GRAZ
Simone 13, 38, 41
Farnerud 77
Nonda 86

Giuly? headed a clearance to Simone (not Sim-e-one as the commentator
continually called him) he pulled the ball down brilliantly and shot into the bottom
corner. He scored at the second attempt after Schicklgruber made a good save
from a close range shot and completed his hat-trick with a fine finish after a long
ball over the top caught the Sturm Graz defence cold. Substitutes Prso and
Farnerud combined for Monaco's fourth and Nonda was rewarded for his
persistence with a scrappy goal.

Assists : Giuly? Gravelaine, Prso

20 SEPTEMBER 2000

MONACO 0-1 RANGERS
							Bronckhorst 8

Van Bronckhorst tried his luck from distance and with Porato unsighted the ball
curled in off the post.

Assist : Numan

STURM GRAZ 3-0 GALATASARAY
Yuran 32
Schopp 64
Schupp 81

Bulent deflected Schopp's shot onto the post and Yuran turned in the rebound
Schopp's cross was weakly cleared and his blasted the ball into the net with the
outside of his foot. Class finish. Fleuquin got Suat sent off with a World Class dive.
As Gala pushed forward Schupp done them on the counter attack with another
great finish from Mamedov's pass.

Assists : Mamedov
Red Card : Suat 69 (Galatasaray)

12 SEPTEMBER 2000

GALATASARAY 3-2 MONACO
Jardel 16 Nonda 50
Hagi 29 Simone 62 (Pen)
Capone 80

Porato made a complete mess of Unsal's cross, the ball fell to Jardel, 1-0. Hagi
smashed a 30yd drive past Porato before he pressed the self destruct button and
Monaco hit back. He indulged himself in dribbling in defence, Giuly stripped him
of the ball, Djetou centered and Nonda swept past Taffarel. Simone converted a
penalty awarded for a foul on Nonda. Hagi was sent off for throwing an elbow at
Riise's chest, Dabo for a foul on Emre. Capone then scored the winner thanks to
Unsal's precision cross and Porato's hesitancy.

Red Cards : Hagi 69 (Galatasaray), Dabo 71 (Monaco)
Assists : Emre, Unsal, Djetou, Nonda
Attendance : 22,000

RANGERS 5-0 STURM GRAZ
Mols 9
R De Boer 19
Albertz 29
Van Bronckhorst 71
Dodds 85

Rangers Dutch contingent were unsurprisingly at the heart of this destruction.
Ronald McDonald was involved in the first two goals, Mols turned in his cross at
the far post and he converted Johnston's cross from an identical position. Albertz
finished off an excellent passing move with a trademark violent shot but then
missed a penalty early in the second half. More superb work from McDonald was
rewarded when Van Bronckhorst cracked a crisp first time shot past the
wonderfully named Schicklgruber and Dodds completed the rout with an exquisite
chip.

Assists : R De Boer (x2), Van Bronckhorst (x2), Johnston
Attendance : 49,317
