3 November 1999
SPARTA PRAGUE 5-2 SPARTAK MOSCOW
Rosicky intercepted a hospital pass, charged forward and teed up Lokvenc who chipped the ball over the 'keeper. Rosicky ran from the half way line and used his blistering pace to put Sparta Prague 2-0 in front. Bulatov hit a first time strike from Bezrodnyi's back heel in off the post and on the stroke of half time. Bezrodnyi tried his luck from 30yds and his shot crept past the 'keeper. Fukal and the giant Lokvenc headed in Labant free kicks and in between Labant put away a penalty after Tikhonov was sent off handling on the line.
There are some fine players in both these teams, Bezrodnyi and Tikhonov for Spartak Moscow and Rosicky in particular catch the eye. Sparta Prague are definite dark horses in this tournament and play brilliant football at times.

Novotny rifled a shot high into the net from a corner and increased Sparta's league with a penalty won due to one of the most blatant fouls you'll ever see, Prohaszka despatched the penalty. Sionko picked out Rosicky with a superb pass and Jarosik finished the rout with a beautifully placed shot inside the post. Looked like the most accomplished, slick performance by any team so far. The passing and movement were great.
