NORDSJAELLAND 2 (Nordstrand 24, Lorentzen 29)
SHAKHTAR DONETSK 5 (Luiz Adriano 26, Willian 44, Willian 50, Luiz Adriano 53, Luiz Adriano 81)

Nordstrand punished typically crap Shakhtar marking to give the Danes a shock lead. Luiz Adriano scored one of the most disgraceful goals in the history of the competition (the others have been scored by Barcelona in the last five years). There was a drop ball in the Shakhtar half. Convention would be to play the ball to the opposition goalkeeper but this cheating lowlife bastard ran through with everyone else static, rounded Hansen and tapped into an empty net. Shakhtar appeared to stop playing and were willing to let Nordsjaelland walk in a goal but Stepanenko changed his mind and intercepted. What a piece of shit. Lorentzen hammered the Danes back in front with a fine turn and shot in off the underside of the crossbar. Willian fired home a loose ball to level just before the break.

Willian put Shakhtar back in front with a stunning effort from the edge of the box then helped make the fourth with a storming run on the break. Luiz Adriano completed a shameful hat-trick from close range.

Lucescu apologised for Adriano's goal after the match which makes him even more a coward. If they were really sorry they would have let Nordsjaelland walk in a goal.

JUVENTUS 3 (Quagliarella 38, Vidal 61, Giovinco 91)
CHELSEA 0

Quagliarella flicked out a boot to re-direct a Pirlo shot past Cech and give Juve a deserved lead. Vidal banged in a shot, possibly via a deflection off Cahill who was lucky not to concede a penalty when pulling down Vucinic. Cech had an excellent game until the 90th minute when he ran 30 yards off his line to intercept Vidal's pass and substitute Giovinco poked the ball into an empty net.

BATE BORISOV 0
LILLE 2 (Sidibe 14, Bruno 31)

How much the fans saw of the Lille goals is a mystery - the match was played under a cloud of fog. Sidibe curled a superb right footed shot into the top left corner. Bruno missed an open goal from the edge of the box but was more accurate from a yard out, flicking home after fine work by teenage full back Digne.

VALENCIA 1 (Feghouli 77)
BAYERN MUNICH 1 (Muller 82)

Valencia took the lead after Bayern's best spell. Feghouli intercepted a loose ball and sold two players dummies before letting rip and his shot went in off Dante. It would have been a great goal but for the deflection. Lahm fired in a centre, Gomez miss-controlled and Muller's poorly struck shot looped over Guaita.

SPARTAK MOSCOW 0
BARCELONA 3 (Alves 16, Messi 27, Messi 39)

Alves whacked in a loose ball after some horrible defending. Messi closed in on another ill deserved record when he bounced home a rebound and scored following a botched offside trap.

BENFICA 2 (John 7, Garay 71)
CELTIC 1 (Samaras 32)

Celtic twice failed to clear a cross and Ola John smashed the Portuguese into the lead. Samaras headed in the equaliser from a corner. Luisao got the jump on his marker to head on a cross and former Real Madrid defender Garay lashed in a volley at the back post.

Attendance : 49,000

CLUJ 3 (Pedro 7, Pedro 15, Pedro 33)
BRAGA 1 (Alan 17)

A back heel bamboozled the Braga defence and Pedro ran through to begin his hat-trick. A square pass by a defender across his own penalty area gifted Pedro a second. The unmarked Alan gave Braga hope when he pulled down a cross and slammed a shot past Felgueiras. Pedro completed his hat-trick with a fierce first time shot that Beto possibly should have saved.
