ROMA 1-1 ANDERLECHT

Roma had already gone close twice before Mornar gave Anderlecht the lead with a contender for goal of the season. He received a pass Stoica and with his first touch flicked up the ball, with his second he sent a magnificent half volley dipping into the net, awesome, awesome, awesome goal. Roma, who gave their best performance of the season, should have won by a landslide. Delvecchio scored a deserved equaliser early in the second half.

ANDERLECHT 1-5 LOKOMOTIV MOSCOW

Crasson flicked on a cross and Ilic lashed the ball past Nigmatullin. Izmailov's free kick, which was almost certainly a cross, evaded everyone and sailed into the net. As Lekseto dithered to clear the ball from the goal line Sennikov pounced on him to put Lokomotiv in the lead. A Real Madrid style triangle attack coupled with Pimenov's superbly timed run to break the offside trap gave Lokomotiv their third. Buznikin scored from a rebound then completed the rout with a crisp first time strike on the run from Pimenov's cross, superb finish.

REAL MADRID 1-1 ROMA

Candela cut inside from the left, sent Celades on his arse with a sharp dummy and teased Sanchez before pulling the ball back to Totti, 0-1. A dodgy penalty gave Real a share of the points. As Morientes attempted an overhead kick Cafu tried to head the ball clear, it struck his arm and the ref pointed to the spot.

ANDERLECHT 0-2 REAL MADRID

Roberto Carlos tried his luck from outside the box and the ball deflected in off Vanderhaeghe. McManaman scored with a spectacular volley from a deflected cross. The build-up play beforehand was superb.

REAL MADRID 4-1 ANDERLECHT

Dindane didn't score the goal that shocked Europe, he scored the goal that pissed off Real, a lob over Casillas from Stoica's pass. De Wilde blocked Makelele's shot and Celades put away the rebound. A lucky deflection gave Raul a tap-in and he scored a superb second, an exquisite first time chip. Solari chipped in Real's four.

ROMA 2-1 LOKOMOTIV

Obradovic headed Lokomotiv into the lead before Roma hit back for the second time in a week thanks to substitute Guigou. Chugainov headed Guigou's cross past his own 'keeper and the Uruguayan midfielder picked out Totti with a perfectly weighted pass, Totti charged into the box and smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

REAL MADRID 4-0 LOKOMOTIV

It took Real close to 40 minutes to break down Lokomotiv then the avalanche began. Munitis with a first time strike from Raul's cross. Munitis probably dived for the penalty (didn't see the replay). Figo converted. Roberto Carlos scored a great third and Savio was left with a tap in when Solari's shot fell at his feet.

Wimp Raul didn't score because this season he's a winger or (excuse here).

ROMA 1-2 REAL MADRID

Roma's first two matches this season have sucked and for 50 minutes this continued the trend. Figo broke the deadlock when his free kick sailed past Pelizzoli. Guti then profited on non marking and a perfect Figo cross to score Real's second. Totti blasted a consolation goal from the penalty spot.
