the post by Coupet. Nee headed in Carriere's cross the punished Leverkusen's
high offside trap by centring for Govou to score a fourth.

Schneider scored with an outrageous, curling half volley, phenomenal goal.
Kirsten tapped in while the Fenerbahce defence were trying to play offside.
A stunning header by Oktay from Gunes' marvellous cross gave Fenerbahce
hope but Leverkusen held on.

Coupet made a brilliant block to deny Luis Enrique following good work by
Rivaldo and Xavi but the ball fell to Kluivert and he tapped in. Lyon were
punished further when Chanelet's lame attempt to clear a ball allowed Luis
Enrique to feed Rivaldo for another tap-in. Luyindula headed into an empty
net after Juninho's shot bounced off Bonano. The new look, defensively solid
Barca looked set to pull off an impressive victory until a terrible clearance
from the old, defensively useless Frank de Boer gave the ball away deep in
defence and Lyon equalised - Carriere after Bonano had saved from Laigle.
Coupet then pissed away the points. He came up for a corner in the third
minute of injury time. Bonano caught the ball and threw it where it was
quickly played up to Gerrard and he was greeted by an empty net.

great first time shot! Ballack flicked on Neuville's corner and Ramelow met
the ball at the far post. Butt made a fantastic save from Kluivert's powerful
header(!) but Luis Enrique put away the rebound.
What the hell has happened to Kluivert? Suddenly he's taking easy chances
and is dangerous in the air!

Nowotny continued his seasonal Champions League nightmare with another
cock-up, he failed to head clear a deep cross allowing Lazetic to race up field
and pass to Revivo who cut inside Lucio before blasting the ball into the
top corner. Brilliant finish. Ballack ran across the box and took two defenders
with him, his back heel took them out and Lucio fired past Rustu. Kirsten
headed down Nowotny's high cross and Ballack stabbed the ball into the net.

Ze Roberto and Jens Nowotny were not 100 per cent fit and made mistakes
but after the red card for Johnson we had a lot of good scoring chances and

Luis Enrique latched onto Kluivert's through pass, sent Nowotny on his arse
and lifted the ball over Butt. Leverkusen were awarded a penalty when Ballack
took a tumble in the box. Butt stepped up and shot horribly, horribly wide.
Possibly the worst penalty I have ever seen. Neuville looked to play a one
two with Basturk but the midfielder tried his luck with a shot from the edge
of the box, he wasn't closed down and Bonano was slow to react, 1-1.
Schneider's cross found Neuville unmarked in the box and he volleyed past
Bonano.

Rustu tipped Delmotte's powerful header onto the crossbar but Delmotte put
away the rebound and both his knees into Rustu's chest as he landed.

shocked when Kluivert hit a stunning first time strike - on target! Another equally
brilliant piece of ball watching allowed Andersson to head in Barca's second.
Umit's trecherous back pass gave Saviola his first Champions League goal.
A clean sheet for Barca away from home!
