MILAN 0
AJAX 2 (De Zeeuw 57, Alderweireld 66)

De Zeeuw blasted in a loose ball from the edge of the box. Suarez nutmegged Boateng and Antonini as he cut in from the left, laid the ball back as Bonera was about to make a challenge and Alderweireld thundered a shot into the root of the net. Fantastic strike. The win gives Ajax a UEFA Cup place.

Milan popped the biggest attendance of the night which is amazing given there was nothing at stake. The fans are behind Allegri.

Attendance : 72,960
Assists : n/a, Suarez

REAL MADRID 4 (Benzema 12, Ronaldo 49, Benzema 72, Benzema 88)
AUXERRE 0

Benzema stooped low to head in a Ronaldo cross. He got on the scoresheet himself minutes after the restart, blasting the hopeless Marcelo's pass into the roof the Auxerre net. Benzema killed a Diarra longball stone dead with an astonishing first touch then switched the ball onto his left before swept past the beleaguered Sorin. Auxerre's goalkeeper ran out of his box to take a backpass, steadied himself yet still managed to kick the ball against Benzema who duly completed his hat-trick with a great first time lob from an acute angle.

Attendance : 54,916
Assists : Ronaldo, Marcelo, L Diarra, n/a

AUXERRE 0
MILAN 2 (Ibrahimovic 64, Ronaldinho)

Ibrahimovic played a fabulous flick centre out to Seedorf, Dudka cut out the pass but it fell invitingly to the Swede and he blasted a first time shot into the roof of the net. Robinho pulled out the Ronaldo backheel a ball to yourself as you change direction trick, he passed to Ronaldinho, who had replaced Ibrahimovic on 86 minutes, he teased a defender, switched the ball to his right foot then curled a low shot inside the left post. Super goal. Allegri's tough love paying off.

Attendance : 19,500
Assists : n/a, Robinho

AJAX 0
REAL MADRID 4 (Benzema 36, Arbeloa 44, Ronaldo 70, Ronaldo 81 Pen)

Real Madrid warmed up in style for a hopeful destruction of the nauseating, butter wouldn't melt, square passing generic midgets, purveyors of the best football in the World etc, etc. Barcelona. Benzema blasted in the first after a lovely Ozil assist. Arbeloa made it 2-0 via a deflection. Ronaldo then inflated his stats by scoring goals once the game had already been won. The first followed good work by Di Maria and his second from a dubious penalty.

Xabi Alonso and Ramos deliberately picked up second yellow cards by checking their runs when taking goal-kicks several times. The bookings will rule them out of the final group game and ensure they are clear for the first game in the knockout stages. If UEFA are smart and have balls they'll increase their suspensions for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Attendance : 51,466
Red Cards : Alonso 87 (Real Madrid), Ramos 91 (Real Madrid)
Assists : Ozil, n/a, n/a, Ozil (won pen)

3 November 2010

MILAN 2 (Inzaghi 68, Inzaghi 78)
REAL MADRID 2 (Higuain 45, Leon 93)

Di Maria drifted in from the right flank and slipped a pass between four players to Higuain, who was played onside by of all people Nesta, and he shot into the bottom left corner. Casillas fumbled an Ibrahimovic shot and Inzaghi headed in the equaliser. Ten minutes later Pirlo dropped a ball over Pepe, Casillas raced off his line, froze, expecting the offside flag, and Inzaghi poked into an empty net. His 70th European goal, equal with Raul and one ahead of Muller, who is better than both combined. Milan missed two chances to clear a free kick, Xabi Alonso played a clever ball into Benzema as the Milan defence were expecting to defend a free kick, Benzema slipped in fellow substitute Leon and the youngster nutmegged Abbiati to preserve his teams unbeaten start to the season.

Anymore games like this from Pato in Europe and Milan should cash in. He hasn't improved as a footballer in three years at the club.

Attendance : 80,100
Assists : Di Maria, n/a, Gattuso, Benzema

AUXERRE 2 (Sammaritano 9, Langil 84)
AJAX 1 (Ajderweireld 79)

Dudka sent a high ball into the Ajax penalty area, Quercia chested down and Sammaritano bounced a volley over Stekelenburg. Ajax worked a short corner, Suarez put in a great cross and 21 year old Belgian centre back Ajderweireld headed in the equaliser. Ajax were caught cold by Chafni's quickly taken free kick and Langil tapped past Stekelenburg as hands went up for offside.

Attendance : 20,000
Assists : Quercia, Suarez, Chafni (fk)

19 October 2010

AJAX 2 (De Zeeuw 7, Suarez 41)
AUXERRE 1 (Birsa 56 fk)

Auxerre goalkeeper Sorin made a fine save as Ajax almost scored a wonderful team goal, Ndinga was slow to clear and De Zeeuw pinched the ball off his toes, turned and cracked a shot into the top left corner. Ajax countered down Auxerre's left, El Hamdaoui fed Suarez and he confidently shot past Sorin. Ooijer was sent off for a professional foul and Birsa curled in the resulting free kick. Oliech was shown a second yellow for trying to punch the ball into his own net. Unused Auxerre substitute Mignot talked himself into two quick yellow cards. Dumbass.

Attendance : 51,383
Red Cards : Ooijer 56 (Ajax), Oliech 85 (Auxerre), Mignot 90 (Auxerre)
Assists : n/a, El Hamdaoui, Oliech (won fk)

REAL MADRID 2 (Ronaldo 13, Ozil 14)
MILAN 0

Ronaldo lined up a free kick on the edge of the D. Amelia took up a position to the left, Ronaldo shot low into the bottom right corner through a poorly constructed wall. Unforgivable mistake from such an experienced goalkeeper. Milan were still reeling when Real Madrid hit them on the break. Pato lost possession, Ronaldo ran at the Milan defence, pulled the ball back to Ozil and his tame, miss-hit shot hit Bonera's shoulder and bounced over Amelia.

Attendance : 71,657
Assists : Alonso (won fk), n/a

REAL MADRID 1 (Di Maria 81)

Attendance : 19,525
Assist : Ozil

AJAX 1 (El Hamdaoui 23)
MILAN 1 (Ibrahimovic 37)

Suarez nutmegged Nesta (referred to a 'tunnel' in Italian) as he ran into the box then pulled back a centre for El Hamdaoui who turned onto the Uruguayan's pass before lashing into the net. Two ex-Ajax men combined for the equaliser. Seedorf knocked on a Pirlo pass and Ibrahimovic took the ball on his chest before volleying past Stekelenburg. Robinho then let Ajax off the hook, missing a one vs one against Stekelenburg. It's funny how the one player Milan actually paid for this season is the one who has sucked the most.

Attendance : 51,276
Assists : Luis Suarez, Seedorf

15 September 2010

REAL MADRID 2 (Higuain 31, Higuain 73)
AJAX 0

Anita headed a Xabi Alonso corner against Higuain's thigh and it bounced past Stekelenburg. Higuain tapped in his second after Ozil floored Stekelenburg with a volley then played him a centre across goal.

Attendance : 60,000
Assists : n/a, Ozil

MILAN 2 (Ibrahimovic 68, Ibrahimovic 69)
AUXERRE 0

Milan's fortunes turned following the second half introduction of Robinho. He didn't actually do a lot but came on for Pato which liberated Ibrahimovic. Boateng flicked on a Ronaldinho cross and Ibrahimovic poked the ball home from six yards. Three minutes later Milan did a Cesena on Auxerre. They broke from the edge of their penalty box, Ronaldinho slipped a pass out wide left to Ibrahimovic and he gently curled a first time shot into the bottom right corner. Brilliant goal though what is he doing scoring on a Wednesday? He must have his days mixed up.

It's just dawned on me that I'm older than Seedorf and I remember watching him when I was a CHILD.

Attendance : 65,000
Assists : Boateng, Ronaldinho
